This home sits just over a mile south of the town of Elk and Greenwood State Beach, 11 miles south of the historic Albion River Bridge (the last wooden bridge in operation on Highway 1), and 18 miles south of charming downtown Mendocino.
If you hop in the car for a drive up the coast, you can make scenic stops at Navarro Beach (eight miles north), Navarro River Redwoods State Park (11 miles northeast), Mendocino Headlands State Park (19 miles north), Russian Gulch State Park (21 miles north), and the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens (25 miles north). To the south, the Point Arena Lighthouse (18 miles south) is famous for its wonderful sunsets.

Summary: Pictures do not do this justice. Amazing views of the Pacific. Quiet with lots of wildlife. House was very comfortable with everything we needed and a short drive to everything. We will be back!

Summary: This property is located on Highway One right on the edge of a cliff. The views are stunning. The house could use some minor upgrades such as a newer dining room table and chairs (chairs felt loose) and kitchen needs some minor updating. Those details aside the stay was awesome and the pros outweigh any cons in our opinion. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: Really enjoyed the cozy vibes of the cottage and well-stocked kitchen for cooking. The view is seriously amazing. Very special to get to relax by the beautiful coastal cliffs. One thing: The doors to the deck look like they're made to open all the way up (and presumably were intended for this) but actually got stuck and became immovable. Flipping through the guidebook for a solution we eventually found a sticky note that said 'don't open the doors, they'll get stuck' -- which is both too little too late -- probably needs more explicit notice, and is also a shame because it'd be amazing if they functioned properly to open up to the wonderful view. Would be great to see that get fixed. Would love to come back.

Summary: My wife and I just wanted a quick, quiet trip to the coast and boy did this place not disappoint. Very clean and all the amenities you need. They've thought of everything. And the view! It was exactly as the pictures and description show. Highly recommend this spot.

Summary: The view was incredible, and the outdoor seating complimented it very well. The house is secluded, but there are plenty of things to do within a short drive. We enjoyed Navarro Winery, Hendy Redwood Grove, dinner at Point Arena pier, and visiting local beaches/trails.
