Adorable seaside cottage with ocean views from the deck, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Walk to South Shore and Goosewing beaches and bike to town for your daily coffee and newspaper. Bikes available on site.
English country charm greets you at the side entrance of this cottage, leading to the the "reading room". The kitchen is cottage style, small but very open concept, with a gas range (!), oven, dishwasher, etc. Lovely ocean views from the kitchen window. Refinished hardwood floors and clean lines on the open concept main level give the living space a Scandinavian feel, including skylights in the living room. The main floor is flooded with natural light.
Two small bedrooms are located off the main floor, one with a queen bed, and one with two twin beds. Both are at the back of the house, protected from bright morning light. The upstairs loft is a large open space that is fully private, with a door that closes, and carpet to insulate from sound below. A full wall of windows gives magnificent ocean views and bright light throughout the day.
The full bath is fully renovated and spacious, with a skylight above the shower, and tons of storage and counter space. A half bath off the entryway room is renovated with river-stone tile and a country cottage feel. This space also house the washer and dryer behind louver doors. The requisite outdoor shower adds to the bath space and is great for after-beach rinse-offs.
The overall feel of this cottage is open concept, brightly-lit with easy access to ground-level deck space and a yard for kids (all in view of the house). It has a very functional layout with minimal stairs. The house is ideal for one couple with 2-3 kids or two couples with a couple of kids. Children enjoy the quiet neighborhood feel, which is very safe for unsupervised bike rides and walks. You'll see most of your neighbors for morning and evening walks around the neighborhood and to the beaches. Goosewing beach, a ten minute walk down the hill, is particularly lovely for long walks, shell gathering, and bird watching over the tidal marshes and ponds. Adjoining South Shore beach has decent surfing for beginners and kids and is great for boogie boarding. Surfing camps are available in Summer from Living Water Surf Co in Little Compton.
In addition to the seaside charm of Little Compton itself, you'll have access to the Westport river, just over the border into Massachusetts, Horseneck Beach, Padanaram Village, and Newport, RI (all about 30-40 min away). Those who sail will find themselves in paradise.

Summary: This was the perfect family vacation home with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. It is located in a friendly, quiet neighborhood walking distance to one beach and an easy drive to many more! Wishing Stone farm is literally right down the road, so if you like to cook you have easy access to an abundance of superb ingredients. If you have an opportunity to rent this place. It is truly a gem!

Summary: My family and I enjoyed the most wonderful 2 week summer vacation at Jennifer’s lovely home! Here are some highlights! - The location! Walk to the beach and Wishing Stone Farm for fresh fruits and veggies and best meal from Little Friend Cafe / highly recommended their food ! - Huge deck to enjoy the ocean views, morning coffee and great dinners with family ! - Morning sunrise from upstairs bedroom window ! - Beautiful neighborhood for morning/evening walks - Huge backyard ! - So many wonderful spots to visit nearby : Sakonnet Gardens, Groundswell , farmers markets , hiking trails , Lloyd’ Beach !! - Jennifer was a fantastic host ! There was an issue with the oven and she was on it ASAP!!! - My favorite spot in the house was the sweet library room , where I spent hours catching up on my reading !! I highly recommended Jennifer’s house for a great getaway!!

Summary: LOVE this delightful seaside gem with ocean views in a spectacular section of Little Compton. What an incredibly relaxing home - perfect for sitting on the deck looking out at the water with a great book; or taking long leisurely walks (or bike rides!!) along miles of quiet country roads; exploring the region's many beautiful conservation paths; or simply watching all the birds abound while enjoying drinks and dinner outside with friends and family. With 3 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, a huge comfy sectional, and a well-equipped kitchen, this cottage is perfect for families, couples, or singles! Did I mention all of the quality bedding and linens?
