Positive: Really great stay! The house has a full kitchen with lots of appliances and pots/pans, which was very useful for cooking! The host was very responsive during our stay, and accommodating to us. We had extra guests for the day and she was very kind, letting us have them. She also replied quickly letting us get them through the main security gate to the neighborhood. Overall, great stay!

Positive: The property was very clean, and the pool area was very nice. Main sitting area is spacious and comfortable. TV works. In addition, all the air conditioners worked well so we didn’t suffer in the heat. The owner was very responsive to our questions. The first night we were there, the kitchen sink developed a leak and it was fixed that morning. And as others have stated - lots of towels! All the appliances worked - including laundry. Very safe neighborhood near American cemetery, embassy and canal.

Negative: The biggest problem is that the owner is not able to take a credit card for payment. You must know this before you arrive, as you will have to Venmo or Zelle her the payment, or give her cash. We did not know this and had to scramble to transfer funds into our checking account to then Venmo her. She was very patient with us. While the property is super clean, and the owner is very responsive, the property is not well maintained, meaning that repairs were not done well, or not at all. Examples include poor paint jobs, failure to replace missing tiles, some really awful cement work, rust in places. Look at the photos. Finally, you should know that the fourth bedroom (on the main floor) is not very nice. I think somebody referenced this in another review. The room is dark, and one of the curtains didn’t open. No closet - just a rod hanging from the wall and some hangars. One of my photos shows how you had to walk through a utility area (not cleaned up) through the bathroom to the bedroom. And the bathroom is not separate from the bedroom. You cannot use the toilet in private if somebody else is in the room.

Positive: Number of bedrooms, the pool, quite neighborhood. Ample supply of towels.

Negative: Listing said property accepts Visa, they did not. This created a problem for me as I do not use cash transfer apps. Owner was not very communicative or helpful. The bathrooms could have been cleaner and more toilet paper provided. Address had been removed by repairs, made it difficult to find for our drivers.

Summary: A little far from things but a pleasant area.

Positive: THE TOPS: The location was excellent. It was a very quiet and safe neighborhood which was close to everything, yet felt just far enough once you're inside. The yard and pool area are well maintained and very inviting for relaxation. The beds were all comfortable, and the linens were of good quality. There were ample bath towels available for all 6 guests, and there were proper functioning washer and dryer available for use as well. The living room, dining room, kitchen, and outdoor areas were also quite spacious for our group of 6 adults. The house was quite secure with an enclosed parking garage and keycode entry for the house. Having 4 toilets (2 upstairs and 2 downstairs) was also a plus. The host was also quite responsive, and we very much appreciated that.

Negative: There was much to love about this accommodation (the "tops"), but there were also some points for improvement (the "tips"). Let's start with the tips and end with the tops. THE TIPS: The house is very much personalized as apparently it is usually occupied by the owner when not rented. There were family photos all around. The bedrooms were personalized with stickers on the walls, names on the doors, etc... There were also several religious emblems all over, including an area that seems like an altar, a random bowl with rice grains, lentils, and money mixed together, and other ornaments placed around. It all caught us by surprise because we were expecting a vacation rental prepared for guests and not necessarily occupying someone's family home. It also seemed like the cleaner prepared in a hurry or just missed some details. The kitchen garbage wasn't emptied when we arrived. There was a dirty kitchen towel that was just lying on counter. The bathrooms were cleaned, however, some details were missed. We were also expecting at least 3 full baths. However, we found out after-the-fact that there were actually a full bath and a half bath upstairs, another toilet (half bath) downstairs close to the front door, and then another "full bath" downstairs in what appears to be the maid's quarters which you access by passing through the dining room, the kitchen, and the laundry area. This doesn't bode well for privacy when you're with a group and have to be trekking through the kitchen after your shower to get back upstairs to the bedrooms. The host did explain that it is typical in Panama to only have 1 full bath available. We appreciated having the extra full bath. It was just less than what we were expecting based on the description in the listing.
