Positive: Let me leave no doubt about it, this place is quite remote but I can’t wait to return. The host are great. The rooms were exceptional. There was a river down below us that made gentle noises all night there there’s lots of trails to walk on nearby.

Negative: The road took us by surprise it’s quite hair raising at first I’m not used to such narrow windy roads but in the end it was part of the charm

Positive: The house was immaculate with fantastic facilities. Lovely furnishings with lots of nice little details and it is in a superb location. The hosts were very friendly and generous, giving little extras like fresh eggs, cake, and port. There was also a plentiful supply of wood for the wood burner. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

Positive: Very cute, very remote, very serene guest house in a tiny aldeia in the middle of hiking country. Our hosts baked a delicious surprise welcome treat and we enjoyed a quiet rest and recharge. In the morning we hiked to the tunnel and waterfall before heading to the Paiva walkways and Arouca 516. It's about 40 minutes drive to the Paiva walkways, skimming back by Arouca.

Negative: We arrived at night so the rural roads were a little intimidating but the adventure made it more worthwhile.
