Positive: Stylish and simply designed. Especially liked hearing and eventually seeing the deer on the other side of the loch.

Negative: Bit more storage could have been provided in the eaves of the sleeping platform.

Summary: Peaceful spot to spend a few days and to explore this elemental part of the world.

Negative: The owners are just meters away. It’s not fully private. The house rules say to close the gate, so I did but the next day it was pinned open with a rock. From then on we just felt like we were intruding on someone’s actual home, which you kind of are. They use booking.com but a 4th party agent then wanted us to create an account with them too for this same booking. That agent then sent me more than 20 marketing emails and as many automated messages while ignoring my actual questions. I then contacted the property owners who got back faster but it was quite confusing and slightly stressful, which was the opposite of why we’d booked this place. Also no ventilation on the upper bed area so got quite warm and uncomfortable, you might not have that issue in winter obviously.

Summary: Not the relaxing break we needed.

Positive: Amazing location with stunning views. The kitchen was well equipped . The rainfall shower was excellent and the infra red sauna is a great addition. The property is modern and clean. It is called ‘North Light’ for a good reason - the property gets a lot of light which is great and they provide eye masks which I used!

Negative: It lacked comfort - I found the bed and pillows quite hard.

Positive: The property was sparkling clean, with amazing decor. It’s a perfect tiny home that gives comfort, relax and amazing views on the lochs. The owners were amazing and helped us setting up the fire and with giving us tips to discover the Hebrides.

Positive: Location, view, modern feel, lovely welcome from the owner

Negative: Way too hot in the sleeping area. No ventilation or way of cooling down. Did not sleep well at all. Needs a staircase, maybe to the left hand side of the lounge wall to enable a more comfortable climb up and down to the sleeping area, and a fan upstairs in the summer months.
