Positive: The Welcome was great Food was excellent Bed was very comfortable This small hotel was the best stay we had in Japan. We stayed only one night but all was perfect from the first minute to the last one. Diner was great and the host was very nice. Definitely to recommend!

Positive: We loved all of the ryokans we stayed at in Japan, but Nipponia was definitely the best. The 350 year old warehouse was gorgeous, and the room we stayed in was comfortable and beautifully appointed. The staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed every aspect of our stay. They were lovely! And the food was totally delicious, the best food we ate in Japan. We'd love to go back.

Negative: Really, nothing. This ryokan exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend staying there.

Positive: Very comfortable accommodation with all the extra books making the stay very original. We stayed in the 300 year old library building on the first floor that even had a lift.

Negative: There was nothing we didn’t like.

Positive: I picked this hotel because I couldn't find a nice ryokan in Himeji and although a little off the beaten path, it was well worth the extra train ride. This hotel was really exceptional! It is in a 300 year old building which was really beautiful and the room we had was jaw dropping. I picked a room with a private bath and everything from the wood tub to the decorative sink was gorgeous. The room was filled with books to browse, and buy (sadly, no room in my suitcase). The large Japanese style breakfast was delicious and served in a beautiful room. The staff was really helpful, picking us up from the train station and suggesting places for dinner (delicious ramen a 10 minute walk). This was our favorite hotel that we stayed in while on our trip.

Positive: Breakfasts and dinners were incredible. We stayed 2 nights and the dishes changed each day. The menu was amazing and were of a very high standard
