Summary: Had to pay another $76 on check in for private bathroom. Then another $15 fee, it went from $128 a night to $217

Summary: if anybody remembers the movie, The Blues Brothers, this room was not that far from what Elwood blues lived in. it’s old and dirty and I know they didn’t change the sheets because they smelled like someone sweat in them all night long. I went to the Walgreens bought some disinfectant, my own shower gel and shampoo because the place needed to be disinfected. I wouldn’t have stayed here except it was the first week of school and every hotel in a 20 mile radius of Berkeley was already booked up. oh did I forget to mention there was no hot water for a few days but luckily I had an equinox gym membership and showered there and it also gave me an excuse to get a workout in. i’m a single guy staying by myself so I dealt with it, but I certainly would not have brought any family members with me. Great location, but just know you’re walking into a time zone about 40 years ago.

Summary: It is a nice old fashioned hotel on University Avenue about a third of a mike from campus. They run a nice Chinese Restaurant

Summary: So happy to stay here Staff were very helpful at check in as there was no parking in front of the hotel-but they helped make it work. The parking garage nearby was more expensive, but easy to access

Summary: Efficient and very clean room w/ private bath. We had a good experience at the hotel. The location is perfect. Would definitely stay there again. I used a parking SpotHero app online which found a nearby lot for overnight was $18. Reasonable.

Summary: Close to Berkeley campus, this is an older building with layers of paint. The lobby is a bit old fashioned and the room was clean with clean beds and bathroom. Limited amenities and a fridge in the room.

Summary: Least that could have been done is to be given a room close to a better and bigger washroom given the age of the guests. My mother is 81, I went to the reception to ask but they gave me vague excuses to not help in anyway. We did find the other 2 common washrooms to be used by the guests but we found them on our own, the manager didn’t bother to share that info when we checked in.
