Positive: The hotel is a fabulous base for kamikochi and the Alps area. We had hired a car which made getting around very easy. Car parking was good and the staff were incredibly helpful with very good English. Both dinner and breakfast were lovely. We opted to pay extra for the Hida beef which was great. The onsen was gorgeous. Such a lovely temperature and great to look out onto the forest. High recommend:D

Positive: Good bath with onsen water. Spacious room. Very accommodating staff - we were able to check in early.

Positive: Hotel is located near Nakaokogen guchi bus stop on the way from Shinhotaka ropeway to Hirayu. Nice hotel with personal onsen in each room with hot water flowing in the bath tub while looking at the outside beautiful snow mountains. Room size is much bigger than typical Japanese rooms. Good breakfast even for vegetarians they had arranged some things. Common room has oven, washing machine, massage chair useful after a long day in the northern alps. Definitely recommend.

Positive: The hotel is a bit old school which is good and bad at the same time (a bit dated). What I loved the most was the private onsen in our room - incredibly relaxing and you can enjoy a couple of cold beers in the hot tub. Also, the location is just incredible, hiking in the mountains was incredible - I got some nice pictures and a good workout walking around.

Negative: The breakfast was quite limited, although I didn't really mind it as I liked how traditional it was. If I stayed for multiple nights I might have been upset though.

Positive: Both the breakfast and dinner are very tasty and healthy with rich variety of food. It was quite nice to have your own onsen bath in your room. Pretty nice view both outside the room and in the third floor balcony where you can be surrounded by mountains and trees. Staff also very friendly and helpful, fluent in english as well.

Negative: The location is a bit far away so it took sometime for the bus to arrive. Plus recommend telling the bus driver to stop at Hoshi No Kanemae in advance. It would probably be quite tiring to walk uphill for 15 minutes from Nagao Kougenkuchi, but it was pretty nice to walk down there in the morning.
