Positive: Everything (house, yard, beds, facilities, bathtub, kitchen, heated floor, Dyson and Asop, styler etc.) except breakfast. My kids called it Evan's Land, as the friendly staff is called Evan. They talked about him even weeks after the trip.

Negative: Breakfast is repeated for the two days, not many varieties. It is western style, not Korean.

Positive: The staff was incredible and the rooms were enormous. Had a great private outdoor area for grilling and campfire. Outside of the city just a bit, so it felt very secluded, but we were still very close to all the sights. Excellent breakfast, cool amenities like a projector, steam closet, sauna, multiple showers, and a beautiful bathtub. Dining area inside was well equipped to have a nice family meal. The staff was very helpful. Helped us get taxis to the train station and even drove me to town to get some groceries to make Korean BBQ in the backyard. Assisted with setting up the campfire and getting our grill going. Was a great evening at home on our last night - all made possible by the staff. One note is that while it's slightly outside of town, we were able to walk from the sights back to the hotel. About 40 minutes walk, but nice paths and really lovely. Uber works super well to the hotel - cars arrived always in about 5 minutes. Only a 5 minute drive to the main sights and restaurant area. I found the location to be perfect. Just outside enough to where it's quiet, but so close to everything it's completely manageable. So if you want the best of both worlds, stay here for the location.

Negative: Absolutely nothing. It was all around awesome.

Designed by Nomal—a pioneering Korean architectural firm specializing in cultural heritage villas—this modern Hanok is exceptionally well-appointed. It features a private sauna, an indoor hot bath, a smart closet, a Snow Peak fire pit, and a full set of camping cookware. These amenities surpass what most so-called “villa-style” hotel rooms offer—even compared to established names like Banyan Tree. What truly sets this place apart, however, is that it’s run by a kind, warm, and genuinely empathetic family. Their heartfelt hospitality made me feel more at home than any Aman resort ever could. For instance, while I was struggling to book a ride during the holiday season and rainy weather in Gyeongju—where taxis are notoriously hard to find—they noticed my repeated attempts on the app and, without me even asking, kindly offered to drive me to my destination for free. That kind of selfless warmth left a deep impression and made my stay unforgettable.

Positive: What an exquisite house! We had the most amazing stay here. The house is very beautiful and has been built and designed with such care. Every detail has been thought through. It’s very quiet and peaceful for a relaxing stay. The bed is very comfortable and we slept very well. The tub and sauna are such a nice touch and the fire pit outside added to the bliss! The family who own it are the kindest people. We absolutely recommend this place and hope to return one day.

Positive: Service was incredibly friendly and helpful. As soon as you walk in through the front door, you can tell that a lot of love went into designing and furnishing the property. Location is a fairy remote, but part of the property’s appeal. Our family, including 5 y/o, had a very relaxing stay and our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. Thanks very much for a lovely experience.
