Positive: This is a beautiful cottage in a peaceful location just outside of Montjean-sur-Loire. The cottage has everything you need with a full sized, well equipped kitchen, a dining area with a 6 seater table and a charming sitting room. There is a shower room, laundry and toilet downstairs . upstairs are 3 large bedrooms and a bathroom. The beams, the thick stone walls and the beautiful garden added to the ambiance. Montjean has a good Carrefour connect with an excellent butcher . There are two bakeries in the town and the walk along the river is beautiful. Finally our host was very good, meeting us and showing us the house and giving local tourism advice. She also left us a bottle of the local rose which was very appreciated.

Negative: It was not a problem for us but the spiral stairs would not be easy for people with mobility problems.

Positive: The gite is beautiful and quaint in a typical French style. The gite was very well equipped and clean. The garden is large with lots of shrubs, and totally enclosed which was great for our dog to run around safely. There is an electric gate to the accommodation, which made it even more secure. The property is at the end of a lane close to the river Loire, very peaceful with lovely walks nearby.

Negative: Everything was perfect for us and all as stated by the owners on the Booking.com website. Please note comments about access to upper floor by spiral staircase, although this was not an issue for us.

Negative: Recycling requirements were overly complicated so would have benefitted from bins being individually labelled.

Positive: Beautiful home along the river, remote and peaceful in the garden. Amazing facilities and very well-equipped kitchen. Local shops perfectly adequate. The surroundings are great for walking / running and we look forward to returning with our bicycles!
