Positive: Hosts met us upon arrival and gave a brief tour and explanation of the accommodations. There is a charming private garden that we used to sit out in the evening with a glass of wine and a salad. There is also a balcony off of one of the bedrooms on the second floor which we also enjoyed. The little house was spotless and had everything we needed. The most important plus was the two bicycles (with chain locks) that were available for our use. We used them every day to ride to the free ferry that takes you across the river to the Center City. We did not take them into the Center City because it is packed with bicycles going in every direction at fast speeds. We just chained our bicycles at the bike racks by the ferry landing and rode the ferry over. It worked perfectly. We mainly walked everywhere once we got to the other side. We did take public transportation once to the museum district. It was easy to catch the metro (just tap your charge card on and off) at Central Station (a short walk from the ferry landing). I would highly recommend this house for a stay. It is on a quiet street, the house itself is charming, the hosts were very accommodating, and with the bicycles easily accessible to the Center of Amsterdam. (If you don't want to take the bicycles, there is a metro stop about 10-12 min walk away you can use.)

Negative: I tried to think of something, but could not.

Positive: Location was lovely .. on a delightful street of traditional houses. There is a 15 - 20 minute walk to metro station .. and then a direct journey to Central Station. There are bikes at the property which can be used. This is not suitable for people with mobility problems unless you use taxis.

Summary: Thjs is a lovely place to stay .. I would recommend.

Positive: Beautiful home wonderful story behind it and location was lovely. Far enough from hustle and bustle but a short 15 min walk to nord station. 2 bikes were supplied and they were great for a little run around.

Negative: I would say a second two seat sofa and perhaps microwave would be fantastic just because we were unable to reheat a takeaway we had bought and didnt manage. and the seating wasnt really enough for 4 adults one had to always sit on a dining chair rather tham a comfy chair.

Positive: We had a wonderful stay! The owner was super helpful and gave lots of suggestions of places to eat. There was lots of room at the property, the beds were really comfortable and it was a lovely walk along the water into the centre. We would definitely recommend!

Positive: Neighbourhood absolutely lovely, the cottage is quite spacious, clean and comfortable and the owners super nice. Allowed us to check in earlier. Communication great

Negative: It is a long walk from the metro station - be prepared to walk at least 20 minutes; however view is lovely and very safe to walk anytime

Positive: The Hof was very comfortable and cozy, and felt like a home away from home. The historic neighborhood was very interesting to explore on foot or bike also, and we absolutely appreciated the loan of 2 bikes! We arrived early and were allowed access which was so helpful!

Negative: If you don’t have a bike, there’s a lot of walking to get to the Metro or all the way into Amsterdam central. We used the neighborhood grocery store 2x, but had to walk a lot further for coffee / meals otherwise. If there are more than 2 people in the group, suggest renting bikes at Amsterdam Central and those members can bike up to the Hof.

Summary: We loved it and would stay again!
