Positive: The perfect combination of luxury, authenticity, and heartfelt hospitality in a way that few places can pull off. I had an absolutely wonderful bush break at Mukwa. From the moment I arrived, I could feel the passion and dedication of the entire team and especially the owners. The property itself is stunning—immaculately maintained, beautifully designed, and set against breathtaking views of the Zambezi River. The sunsets here are simply unforgettable. My itinerary, planned on site, was perfectly balanced, offering a mix of exciting activities and restful downtime. The lodge offers a spa for relaxation, a gym for fitness enthusiasts, a wine cellar for indulgence, and a charming gift shop. Everything is thoughtfully curated. Highlights of my stay included the daily boat cruises, where I enjoyed wildlife sightings along the river with knowledgeable guides Current and Alan, and the cooking class on traditional Zambian cuisine led by very skilled chefs Mike and Royd. The food throughout my stay was exceptional. Lingering way past check-out time didn’t make leaving any easier but I am convinced returning will cure the nostalgia.

Positive: Mukwa River Lodge is a piece of heaven in Zambia. The property is so beautifully decorated you feel you are in a magical place. I was lucky to receive an upgrade and have to say that my room was bigger than my house in CA. I felt like a true queen. There was a mini bar, outdoor shower, plunge pool, and even fresh ice brought in twice a day by the staff. I have done many safari trips in Africa and have to say that Mukwa is def my favorite of all!!
