Positive: The unit was exactly as it was indicated on the photos on booking.com. Photos reflected the contents and size of the one room bachelor flat well. The kitchen was big.
Negative: For this facility, Payment's not made via the booking.com site. The caretaker phoned to advise their card machine was faulty & requested we withdraw & pay cash on arrival. She agreed to an EFT. As we were driving a car, we could not process payment before reaching our destination, a mere 45 min from the airport. Upon arrival the caretaker requested immediate payment which we did immediately. However it was a Sunday afternoon & they banked with a different bank to us. Standard Bank Vs First National. Both SA banks. Although the caretaker received her notice of payment directly from the banking app, & not from my personal email where I could maybe fraud the document before forwarding it, her employer was not satisfied with the payment, & we felt a little harassed with repeated telephone calls & demands to either withdraw cash or process a second payment using an alternate method to guarantee it would reflect immediately in the owners bank account. Essentially asking us to pay twice, assuring us to believe that once the first payment reflected the following morning, that they would then refund it. About 4 hours into the disagreement, a man, not the caretaker, arrived shortly before 18h00 at our door, to demand a second payment be processed, threatening us with prison +++ My husband was required to open his banking app & prove the amount had already gone out our account. They refused to believe that our straight forward, regular, normal, FNB payment would reflect the following morning & yet they wanted us to make a duplicate payment & trust them to refund the first payment. The funds must have reflected quickly because they did not return the following day. However we were in town for a medical matter & after the harressing introduction, I was nervous staying there on my own while my husband was in hospital. 2.
Summary: Exactly as seen on the photos. Care taker was sweet & jovial, but owner was a bit hostile.
