Positive: The views from the bedroom and the walkout concrete patio were absolutely breathtaking. Even though the entire basement was a shared space (including the bathroom), it is big enough that you dont even notice the other guests.

Negative: It would have been great to have a choice of coffee vs. just an espresso machine, although that was a nice touch. Perhaps a Keurig with the option of decaf, breakfast/mild blend for those of us that are not so tolerant of espresso.

Summary: Short stay this time, but will be back for sure.

Positive: Nice view, comfortable shared space with cooking facilities and plentiful food for breakfast. Quiet and peaceful.

Negative: Advertised as in-room bathroom when it was not, bathroom was shared and outside the room which for elderly persons not ideal.

Positive: What a lovely mountain style property. Wooded area walk, and very short drive to a beautiful Qualicam walk through the woodlands. Comfortable communal area, fireplace and kitchenette

Negative: Dressing table and mirror would be great to have in the bedroom.

Summary: I'm hopeless with a map, but our host was so gracious in helping us.

Positive: This place has potential, with a wonderful open view, but when we arrived they were recovering from an evacuation due to forest fire. The owner gave us a friendly welcome and explained about the fire - but I felt this should have been messaged prior to arrival with the option of cancelling the booking. The excellent free coffee was much appreciated.

Negative: I hadn't realised that this was a "home stay" - three bedrooms on the ground floor of the owners' home. The House of Wonder" must definitely be their upstairs quarters. On arrival, the first thing we saw were appliances strewn around the entrance that were being cleaned after an unexpected evacuation due to forest fire. The hot tub, which should be decommissioned as it is old and tattered, was cold. The area of the stay is their lower ground floor and the outside areas are not landscaped. The patio was weedy. The bedroom was adequate but not comfortable. The bedding looked old and messy, there was no mirror, no black-out blinds/curtains. I had missed that it was a shared bathroom which would have put me off making the booking. There was dust under the sofa in the main area, the yoga mat provided was not clean. The signage around the property could do with a friendlier vibe - the bookshelf is labelled "Don't Steal Our Books". I appreciated that the owners were working to make this place meet the mark, but there is some way to go. I wish them best of luck.

Positive: Beautiful view. Large common area with espresso coffee maker. Nice seating outside covered for rainy or snowy weather.

Negative: Was surprised how steep the road was in the last kilometer. Second time coming back after dinner was a lot easier as I knew what to expect. Would never have found it if not for Google maps.

Summary: Great home beautiful views drive was a little challenging at the end.
