Summary: The Eco Retreat's location is amazing. The retreat provides an awesome communal cooking arrangement steps away from the beautiful view of the Black Mountains. The location was fantastic and a great option to the standard hotel view. While there are other locations with a mountain view in the area, Mount Mitchell Eco Retreat surpasses them in the acreage of privacy and uninterrupted views of the mountains.

Summary: This is off the beaten path so be prepared and stock up on snacks/food before you get there. I stayed in Pisgah and the room was very spacious, ridiculously clean (cleaner than many of the nice chain hotels I have stayed at), and super cute. It came with a white noise machine that was needed as you can hear your neighbors (I heard mine snoring). There is parking right next to the cabin. WiFi worked great. The biggest *complaint* was I never saw the resident dogs. I was looking forward to petting them!
