Positive: Owner Grant was very welcoming and let us check in early which was fantastic. The motel has been recently renovated and was very private and comfortable. They have thought of everything and there is also great cooking facilities

Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at Motel3858. Grant was very welcoming and gave us an early check-in to room 10. We loved the comfy high bed and the lovely private courtyard complete with plunge pool, hot tub and fish pond! The motel is close to town and the rail trail.

Positive: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were lucky enough to have booked the most amazing and quirky stay at Motel 3858 in Heyfield, Victoria. Wow, wow, wow! The owners are not only incredibly genuine and friendly but also have such an eye for design. Each unit is unique, featuring water elements such as spa pools and claw-foot baths, and every one has its own magical fishpond that you step over to enter the wild, whimsical garden. It felt like home, yet at the same time we were so spoilt. We loved the industrial bathroom fittings, and the concrete bed base and side tables were both aesthetically striking and practical. The rooms were spacious, stylish, and comfortable. We spent three truly blessed nights here. On two evenings, we soaked in the spa under the stars – yes, it was freezing when we got out but inside was warm and cosy. Such a perfect balance of comfort and adventure. A special thank you to Motel 3858 for the fresh eggs and lemons – such a thoughtful touch, and truly appreciated. We arrived very late and even had some milk for us This is a place full of character, charm, and heart. Highly recommend!

Positive: The list is endless - the room was furnished beautifully, the bed was an ACTUAL king bed, not just two mattresses pushed together like most places do! The private court yard made the place feel so luxurious, and the spa under the moonlight was so peaceful. The TV was the perfect height for watching a movie in bed, and there is a wicked pizza place 2 minutes away (Gippy's woodfired pizza) that topped off the perfect night in. We brought our two dogs, and they had a ball running around in the field next door each morning and evening. Lastly - the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Could not speak more highly of this place. We will definitely stay here again! PS Enjoy the photo of my dog after putting his nose in the pond. PPS it's cheaper to book directly through motel3858's website!
Negative: One minor thing that did not impact us, but the bed was quite high up. I'm 5'6 and I had to jump and climb onto the bed, so it may not be suitable for someone with any physical/mobility-related impairments.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and friendly service provided by Grant. They made check-in quick and easy, and their hospitality truly set the tone for the rest of my stay. The room itself was spacious, clean, and very well-maintained. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. The kitchenette had everything I needed, and I really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the espresso maker & the choice of light or full fat milk! and the high-quality bedding - the bed was definitely the most comfortable bed we’ve ever stayed in when travelling, 10/10! One of the highlights for me was the outdoor area. My room had a private courtyard, which was perfect for unwinding after a day of travel. The hammock swing and pond with the little fish swimming was so chill! The unique feature of the spa-bath outside was such a treat—so relaxing to enjoy a soak under the stars. The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding area, and the peaceful, quiet environment made it the perfect place to relax and recharge. The local bakery made the best sausage rolls & pies! We also had a fabulous breakfast at the local little quick cuppa van which is fab in the mornings! I highly recommend Motel 3858 to anyone visiting the area. It’s the perfect combination of comfort, service, and a beautiful setting. I will definitely stay here again!

Positive: We have stayed at numerous places across Victoria, as we like to do different bike rides. The accommodation at Motel3858 must sit in my top three and the photos just don’t do it justice. Everything is top level luxury with everything you could need catered for. The baths outside are also fantastic. Beautiful place and will definitely return!
