Positive: We found the Hall itself and surrounding gardens enchanting. It has vintage charm and modern convenience. Our Superior room was excellent with a spacious bedroom, luxurious linens and toiletries and a beautiful bathroom tucked in the eves. The name of the room was Mannington and I would recommend requesting it. We both thought the room was a good value. The dinner in the restaurant was truly exceptional in terms of fresh local ingredients and imaginative combinations of taste and texture.

Negative: The only thing we could say is that the dinner (tasting menu) felt overpriced. It was exceptional and made for a good special occasion dinner, but we are unlikely to ever do it again.

Positive: Beautifully presented rooms and hotel. Lovely location close to walks and places to visit.

Negative: A self service area for breakfast to top up juice etc would be useful instead of waiting for busy staff to ask and serve.

Negative: Couldn’t use bath or shower as it was overhead and didn’t want to get my hair wet even though there was a shower cap . Couldn’t use bath as have a bad knee and no grab rail to get in bath
