Morningtide Cottage is the perfect getaway! Enjoy our amazing waterfront sunrise views, visit local wineries, and relax in a tranquil setting surrounded by woods and water. Our family-friendly home has plenty of space for lawn games, bike riding, as well as fishing and swimming from the dock. There are nearby marinas and launching points, so bring your boat to enjoy exploring the Yeocomico River, with just a quick ride out to the Potomac. We are also located near some excellent local wineries, one of which is within walking distance! Check out the Chesapeake Bay Wine Trail, enjoy nearby local breweries, try some delicious local seafood and eats in nearby towns, and shop to your heart's content at the area's antique and thrift stores. Visit us to appreciate Virginia's rich history and natural beauty!
Our Location
Morningtide Cottage is set back on a quiet road with no through traffic. Perfect for strolls and bike rides with friends and family, surrounded by water and woods, our peaceful neighborhood will make you feel at home. We encourage guests to use the field for lawn games, enjoy our outdoor dining area and fire pit with water views, and have coffee on our deck while watching the sunrise over the water. There is a pair of nesting bald eagles nearby, plenty of osprey who fish in the cove, great blue herons crabbing along the water’s edge, and loads of song birds to serenade you. We encourage you to sit on our deck to listen to them and to be on the lookout for any other animals that might visit.
The Space
NEW for 2022! Dock has had new planks installed for guest safety and comfort. On demand hot water heater installed this spring.
Master bath with double vanity and walk in shower. Four season sun room with sleeping capability; wake up with the best view in the house! Large fire pit and outdoor dining area allow you to enjoy the view all day and into the night.
Recently renovated and restored house including a kitchen with stainless steel appliances and Keurig coffeemaker, open concept kitchen/living/dining area, and sun room with water views.
Guest access
Feel free to use our dock for swimming, crabbing, fishing, and boating; however, please no unattended children at the dock. We welcome guests to bring their own boats and fishing gear (just please obey all local laws with regard to boating/fishing/crabbing). A ladder is available at the dock for guest use. Our closest marina rents kayaks and canoes and has a newly restored dip pool! (Contact The Slips for more info). The large garage near the road and small garden shed by the house are unavailable to guests at this time. There is plenty of parking on our paved driveway, including a nearby carport available for guest use.
We provide access to Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and casting capabilities from your device. There is unlimited WiFi and DVD players for use. There are many books, games, and movies available for guests during their stay.
Our deck box (on the pea gravel patio) includes some folding chairs, games, and other outdoor fun supplies for guest use.

Summary: We had a great trip! The place was clean, spacious, and relaxing! The kitchen had everything you could possibly think of needing. We also really appreciated that all of the light switches were labeled. Great attention to detail.

Summary: We enjoyed a beautiful few days here waterside. Local friends picked us up in their boat. Kitchen is very well stocked and recent renovations are beautifully done. Wish the weather had been cooler so we could’ve used the fire pit.

Summary: The house was even more beautiful than the photos. Clean, organized, stylish and well located - on the water, in a quiet area with polite neighbors and a short drive to towns, food and shops. The owners went above and beyond to accommodate their guests with ample info and welcoming touches and convenience whenever possible. We hope to be back! The perfect relaxing getaway close to DC. Summary: Property as described. Peaceful location with dock for fishing, crabbing and swimming. The house was very nice and had lots of little touches, like light switches that were labeled, throw blankets in the living room, books and games to use, toiletries including shampoo and conditioner, and even makeup washcloths for guest use. Kitchen was well stocked with pans and appliances and even had a spice collection. Outdoor dining area and fire pit were used frequently. A couple of days, we were unable to swim in the Yeocomico due to the nettles, so we purchased visitor passes to the pool at the nearby marina, The Slips. For food and supplies, we placed an online order at the Food Lion in Warsaw and picked it up on our way there. Owner was prompt in replying to any questions beforehand; we didn’t need to contact them at all during our stay. Highly recommend this property!

Summary: It is a very lovely cottage with a great common area and kitchen and lovely views of the water. The fire pit was wonderful to relax by in the evening and the views from the dock were very nice. It was very quiet and a perfect place to spend a relaxing secluded weekend to recharge.

Summary: Our Florida vacation was canceled due to red tide, so we scrambled to find another location on the water. This was so incredibly lovely, and we feel so lucky to have found this "back up"! Two families fit comfortably in the house, which is exactly as pictured. The dock was fun- we rented paddle boards and kayaks and used them all day, every day. There is a small sandy beach that was an easy trip for kids (age 13 and under) and adults to get to. There were stinging nettles in the water during our trip (apparently they were a bit worse than normal) so we didn't swim very much, but spent plenty of time on the water. The house had everything we needed to cook meals every day (as well as a great oyster-shucking fest on our last night), and the fire pit was great fun. The hosts were responsive (within minutes) for the minor issues that arose, and helpful. We all really loved the trip and recommend Morningtide Cottage very highly!
