Positive: Montpelier is beautifully set on the hillside, with stunning views, private villas, immaculately presented bar and restaurant areas. A feeling of space, comfort and luxury. The food and drink for breakfast, lunch and dinner were perfection. Beautifully served and gracefully presented. There is a fun and friendly vibe to the Montpelier estate as a whole. Happy interactions, great advice for alternative restaurants and bars to try. We saw it all! Montpelier also sorted our rental car for us on arrival, which we always intended to book but ran out of time. Nothing was too much bother. All was done with a smile. We met and got to know well the Owner, who is delightful. I have no doubt we will both stay in touch and return. Montpelier also have a private beach about a 10 minute drive away. A mini bus will take you there, but we used our hire car. It is a very special location, with hammocks, huts, plenty of sun beds and a bar area in the shade. The beach is delightful and I spent many hours reading my book half in the water. It was very much the great escape.

Negative: There was really nothing to put my finger on for 'not to like'. The staff were quietly efficient to fix our room while we were at breakfast or once we had gone to the pool or beach. Again in the evening, the room was turned down when we were out. The products in the bathroom divine. No complaints, not even small ones.

Summary: A world away. The perfect place to meander from the pool, to the beach, to bar(s) & restaurant(s).

Positive: Our stay at the Montpelier Nevis was incredible! It’s small enough to feel boutique and exclusive whilst having enough facilities to keep you entertained. It was so quiet and relaxing. The pool was great. All the staff were amazing, can’t thank them enough for their beautiful hospitality! And the icing on the cake was the private beach - most of the time we shared it with one or two couples so felt very private.

Negative: Nothing . It was perfect.

Positive: We thought we had a flight out in the morning, so didn't eat breakfast, but that flight out no longer left in the morning to St. Kitts, so we had to take a water taxi there which was good to know about and to take, but we landed a long way from the St. Kitts Airport. A taxi was called by the locals, and it was a long and rather expensive drive to the airport, but we did get to see some of St. Kitts. A dependable taxi was obtained from and to the airport by the hotel staff. The former taxi, still suggested on-line, to get to this mid-island former plantation / resort with its own beach, was more than twice as much.

Negative: Tiny ants come out at night on the bathroom counter. The floor and plumbing could be better sealed. (The rooms are beautiful and nicely decorated.) The gift shop had interestingly patterned clothing, but it was mostly from India. Locally-made clothing would be preferable.

Summary: The food, dining room and chefs are all the best as is the room decor and probably the private beach
