Positive: The hotel is in a former monastery on the hill up to the castle. The hotel and grounds are wonderful, the staff are helpful and friendly. The views from the grounds, both overlooking the town and looking up towards the castle are amazing.

Negative: We had the Montsant taster menu for our evening meal and all of the courses apart from the meat course were exquisite. The meat course was a very bland lasagne, a real let down.

Positive: Lovely property. We didn’t eat in the restaurant except for breakfast which was excellent . Castle is above the hotel and well worth visiting.

Negative: It is up a steep hill so you need to be fit

Negative: Lack of staff at breakfast and quality of food offered. No shower in room. Only had handheld shower wand in tub.

Positive: Location, planting, visiting working Arab cistern below hotel property, swimming pool. Quiet and tropical. Views of the castle. The combination of ancient ruins with contemporary ideas about hotel architecture. Over all rustic nature. Classy place.

Negative: House wine was nothing. Why was the room service snack not available in restaurant when ordering algo para picar with wine. Instead I was served 20 olives, plate of potato chips and some manchego all on separate plates as If I was 2 people....no concept of small plate of apps for ONE person. Empty dirty dishes were left on a terrace the entire time I was there. Strange as the chairs and tables had been rearranged the 2nd day but no one took away the dishes. Breakfast was substantial but I came at the end - bread and eggs seemed to be sitting out too long.
