Positive: The apartments was clean and spacious. Max, the owner, was always available on the phone and very helpful and friendly. A nice selection of teas, always fresh fruit available (bananas, oranges and apples), sweet treats and porridge/cereal were also provided daily. One day when we came in, the apartment was nicely decorated for Halloween. Max was going out of his way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.

Negative: Although the apartment was close to Metro, the area was not most desirable, but safe.

Summary: Nice spacious and clean apartment with a very helpful owner.

Positive: The owner is very kind and helpful. He always answered within a few minutes and tried to solve every problem we had. He even offered complimentary snacks and coffee and his bathroom was filled with everything you could dream of. He allowed us to keep our baggage in the apartment after check out till the afternoon

Negative: The apartment and the building are pretty old. The owner tried to make it seem modern and new but it ended up looking a bit like a no-tell motel. We smelled gas in the kitchen. The owner told us that there is no gas in the apartment anymore so maybe there was a leak in the neighbouring apartment but it was pretty intense. It was quite unpleasant that we had to wait for the bathroom sometimes because there is just one for 4 apartments. The streets seem very dangerous especially for tourists, it's very close to Bronx. Definitely not recommended for girls who travel alone. We didn't feel safe even inside the apartment. The owner was literally watching us through cameras and he gave himself away when he referred to us as "girls" even though he had no idea who I was staying with when the booking confirmation did not require the second guest's personal information. We really hope, it was just the cameras in the common spaces. To top it all off, we found a cockroach in our bedroom.

Summary: The owner is trying really hard but we expected something else for the money.

Positive: The room was very clear and nice! We stayed an entire week, the host was answering super fast and left us many snacks and coffee, and even provided clean towels and bed sheets after 3 nights. The neighborhood was okay and it is pretty close to the bus and subway. I highly recommend!

Negative: The shared bathroom means you might have to wait on other people sometimes, but overall it went really good!

Positive: We were pleasantly surprised by the warm welcome – the host had even left us some face masks as a thoughtful touch! In the kitchen, there were always snacks available, along with tea, coffee, and even oatmeal that we could prepare ourselves. The location is quite convenient, with easy access to everything via the nearby subway. The bathroom was fully stocked with everything needed for personal care – shower, shower gel, shampoo, creams, and even perfumes. In the room, we found cozy bathrobes, as well as an iron and a hairdryer, which was very convenient. Check-in was super easy. The apartment was clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others!

Positive: The room is big and cosy, the owner is extremely nice and helpful, he also left us food in the kitchen for breakfast, which was great. A coffee machine is also available. The bathroom has shampoos and everything. A lot of nice touches in the house to make people feel welcome, we really appreciated it. The neighborhood is lively and super convenient, the subway brings directly to times square in a few stops. Overall I recommend it and we would choose it again.

Negative: A shared bathroom will always be an inconvenience obviously. It's shared between three rooms so if the house is full you may need to cue. I do not recommend the area for solo travellers. The neighborhood is amazing but there are not enough lights at night, can feel a bit dangerous.
