Positive: Loved our stay in Millie’s Cottage. It’s such a lovely little cottage with everything we needed for a week’s stay. The location is right in the centre of Finchingfield, a short walk to 3 pubs and 2 cafes. We hope to return again!

Positive: We needed a place for the family to stay near Stansted airport, and this appeared in the search. It's a simply beautiful and comfortable old cottage, near two pubs ( ones up the hill a bit). full of charm and simple and cosy. It has a new oiled filled heating system that as very warm everywhere. Wife loved it, kids were happy and the village is simply picture postcard. Worth staying longer and using this as a base to explore, sadly we was only there a few nights. I made a mistake of reading the hosts key box explanation's wrong, he sent me an email ,saying the keys are in the box. I could not find the box, because he had put after the box code, further down , that you need to go through the gate at the side of the house to get the keys . the key box is at the rear of the property. Charming really, its a place to return to, the Airport is less than 30 mins away. Very happy. I noted that they have a nice garden outside, that would be super if you wanted to sit out in summer

Negative: (Not a dislike) I’m not a big fan of the single cup coffee machines, but thank you for the variety to choose.

Positive: Beautiful location,immaculately presented, attractive decor, very well equipped, great walkinshower, comfortable seating in lounge, pretty views from cottage, interesting history.

Negative: Access to house is difficult if luggage laden as parking is below house, with a bank to manoeuvre up, stairs inside house very steep with inadequate handrail, needs another, no bathroom upstairs so must use very steep stairs in middle of night for bathroom access, expellair whines nonstop, not suitable for elderly, young children or disabled too many health and safety issues.

Summary: A pretty historic cottage but some safety issues.

Positive: It was delightful, very clean and stylish, we would have loved to have spent more time in it, we were in the area for a wedding. We’d love to return to explore the area and enjoy some of the local walks and restaurants. Shaun, our host was really helpful and recommended local restaurants to eat. We ate at The Fox on the Green, which we really enjoyed and it was wonderful to be able to walk and enjoy the local wine. My advice would be to put in the village and the street name rather than the post code when travelling to the cottage. It was such a nice break and a delight to stay somewhere so nice with such a lovely family history.

Negative: Downstairs bathroom, but really it was fine. Shower could be more powerful, but it wouldn’t deter us from returning.

Positive: It is a spotlessly clean cottage, with lots of character. Comfortable enough for 4 people. Great location near three lovely pubs in a beautiful village location. The village post office sells great local produce. We liked that Shaun removed the air fresheners and used non-scented laundry liquid for us.

Positive: The cottage was really lovely The pub,the Fox on the Green had lovely food and very friendly

Negative: Disappointed in Finchingfield . Unfortunately weather was not good but nowhere to potter around in. Only teashop closed. We had not wanted to drive out but to wander around the village
