Positive: Mike is awesome - he met us to show us around and offered us raki with cheese pie and honey - yum! The house was clean, well stocked and super nice. If you’re hiking the Samaria Gorge and have a car it’s the PERFECT place to stay.

Positive: Such a perfect spot, with a view of the mountains, surrounded by flocks of sheep with bells clanging, close to the start of the Samaria Gorge hike. The mist covering the valley early morning was a sight to behold. The cottage has everything you need, with lots of seating outside to enjoy the peace and quiet. The hosts were very responsive and welcoming and left lots of goodies to enjoy. .

Negative: That I couldn't stay longer!

Positive: Very hospitable host. Greeted us with Raki and homemade pastries. Provided many supplies such as fresh cheese eggs and oranges. The accommodation was comfortable, and the location was great.

Negative: The accommodation we stayed in did not match the photos, which were of a different accommodation on the same property.

Positive: Mike Omalos place was absolutely wonderful, it’s location the most peaceful and beautiful ever. Left us feeling like it’s us in our little cabin vs the rest of the world. Nothing outside except beautiful scenery, lots of goats, the sound of their bells the soundtrack to the experience. Mikes hospitality is also unmatched: starting off the trip with a chat with him, some raki and some sweet treats was a right dream. Thank you Mike ❤️

Positive: Mike and Stefania are excellent hosts. They drove down (up?) from Chania to meet us on arrival with some fresh pastries and raki. The house is comfortable, well equipped and beautifully isolated. It is off the main roads so you just have to mind the flocks of dozing sheep lying in the road when returning from dinner at night. Then sit back and gaze at the stars...!

Negative: The house is rustic, which we love, but don't come here if looking for a modern, pristine hotel. It is a lovingly crafted house, built with care and attention to detail for comfortable mountain living.

Positive: Very good base for Samaria gorge walk. It is only 5-7 minutes by car from the national park gate. Remote, rural escape. Very quiet place, good sleep Nice rural surrounding. Parking in closed yard. Very warm and friendly welcome by hosts. Tap water is not drinkable but enough bottled water in the fridge. Well equipped kitchen, you can make your breakfast. Coffee, tea available. Good, strong wifi. TV, AC (works to warm up the room as well). Tavernas not far away. If you are lucky, you can taste liocal honey.

Negative: Shower pressure relatively weak but not critically or too important for us.
