Positive: The cottage had a bright, welcoming interior that made us feel at home right away. It was clear that a lot of care and thought had gone into decorating and furnishing the space - everything from the furniture and bedding to the textiles and kitchenware was of high quality and tastefully chosen. The kitchen was particularly well equipped, with a full range of pots, pans, utensils, crockery, and glassware - not just the basics, but everything you’d need for proper cooking and dining. There were also a number of condiments, oils, and cupboard staples, presumably left by previous guests, which we really appreciated. It made settling in and preparing meals feel that much easier and more comfortable. Overall we had a lovely stay at the cottage, my partner and I enjoyed a very calming, refreshing weekend away and would be glad to return someday.

Negative: The property was unexpectedly difficult to find. The postcode led us a bit further down the road, and we ended up wandering around the village for several minutes trying to match front doors with the listing photos before locating it. This isn’t a complaint as such - just something to be aware of. The remoteness is part of the cottage’s charm, but it’s worth noting that the area is more rugged than we expected. The drive in involves narrow country lanes, blind bends, and some steep gradients - often all three at once. If you’re not a confident driver or unfamiliar with rural roads, it’s something to consider before booking. A couple of minor practical points: I'd suggest the owner consider adding a doormat. Being in the countryside, we tried to avoid bringing in dirt, but without a doormat it was a bit tricky. Also, unless we somehow missed it, we couldn’t find a kitchen bin, which made dealing with food waste and general rubbish more awkward than it needed to be.

Positive: Lovely cosy and comfy charming cottage in a beautiful location - v tastefully decorated - disappointed that kitchen and living room floors not clean when we arrived and vacuum broken, bedding/blankets had makeup stains - other guests had not cleaned up dog Pooh in the garden and although advertised a welcome pack and dog treats non were provided - raised with host but no reply ☹️- we enjoyed our stay but not able to provide 5 star rating as these things let the property down

Positive: We had a fantastic 3 nights stay here. It's a great location if you are looking for a peaceful retreat in the countryside. Even with a 10 year old who was happy to eat in the local pub every evening and play connect 4 and stroke good old Ronnie the dog. WiFi throughout massive bonus for the chilled out evening in front of the fire. Lots going on just a few miles drive away.

Negative: Nothing. Just to note streets leading up or down to the village are tight and on street parking is at your own risk! Do not assume you can park on the drive which path leads to the cottage otherwise you'll have a very unhappy neighbour banging on the door. Village Hall carpark is generally full but if like us eating at the pub then can make use of their carpark
