Positive: Great guesthouse in Ivato near the airport. The place itself is nice and staff are friendly. The room was spacious with a nice bathroom. Breakfast was huge!

Negative: The drive from the main road to the guesthouse is a bit narrow. Nothing they can do about it really.

Positive: We stayed several times at Meva Guesthouse because its convenient access to the airport. It is a relaxing oasis from busy Tana. We loved our stays because of the super friendly staff and the relaxing atmosphere. The courtyard with its residence tortoise, the big rooms and the wide balconies are great for hanging out. The staff are exceptional - so friendly, helpful and kind. We highly recommend the big breakfast. You can order lunch and dinner as well. You might even be lucky to catch the staff jamming and singing one night. Meva is a bit hard to find but several taxi drivers knew it and if not, Google Maps can help. Meva staff can help organize a direct but expensive shuttle to the airport. The neighborhood spans the extreme from farm fields on one hand to high end grocery stores on the other. We enjoyed exploring around there (found an excellent Korean restaurant in the neighborhood). Tsara be!! Misaotra

Positive: This is a beautiful place - an oasis of tranquility in bustling Antananarivo. It's in a colonial style villa in Tana's outskirts close to the airport. We had a spacious room with a terrace that provided beautiful views to the rice paddies nearby. Meva guesthouse is situated in a small alley in a local residential area; it's not easy to find - you might want to guide the taxi driver with the help of Google maps

Negative: They charged us a hefty 120,000 ariary for the transfer to the airport which is only 20 minutes away by car

Positive: We loved our stay at Meva Guesthouse. Beautiful grounds, and the spacious rooms. Fabienne and her staff were very accommodating. They really helped coordinate our late arrival, sketchy departure times on Tsardia, and left-luggage arrangements. They prepped delicious meals, and attended our every request. Very comfortable rooms, and bedding, with great baths and plenty of hot water. We would stay again, no doubt.

Negative: A little tricky to navigate to if your driver is unfamiliar with the neighborhood. Just persevere, it's worth it. Or walk the last bit, like we did once.
