Positive: We loved the close proximity to the ferry. It was easy to find. As soon as we went to the restaurant on the lower level, they called and a ride came down for us immediately. It was so easy to settle in. The hostess let us in, left us some fresh baking and let us know to come upstairs whenever we needed something. There was that beautiful personal touch. The man who picked us up gave us a bottle of lovely Greek wine a day later. Everything about our place was perfect. We do not want to go home!!

Negative: Everything was perfect!!

Positive: Very clean and Maria and her husband were very kind, gave us cake on arrival and let us leave our bags in their house while waiting for the ferry, also put our cool bag which we’d left in the fridge in their fridge to keep cool for us!Very close to the port and cafes/restaurants in town and not a bad sea view at all!

Negative: Balcony was shady but Kamares is pretty shady so not anyone’s fault at all.

Summary: Basic, clean, welcoming accommodation; a great case to explore from.

Positive: The owners were very friendly and they kindly let me check in early and there was delicious homemade cake and a large bottle of water for me waiting in the fridge. In a great location just off the main street so it was quiet and you can easily walk to everything. My room was comfortable and clean with a cute patio which was a perfect spot to have breakfast with an ocean view and hear the waves lapping the shore. I walked to the beach or out to the monastery every evening to watch the incredible sunsets. I didn’t have a car as it’s so easy to catch the bus to other villages and beaches. Plus there is also an excellent trail system and I did a couple of the hikes between villages and highly recommend doing that. I would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Great location for watching ships coming and going and very convenient for ferry. Clean comfortable and pleasant. Delicious cake on arrival from Maria. Maria let us check in early as room was ready. We really appreciated that .

Summary: Very nice hosts. Friendly and accomodating. I needed a later check out time and they said it was no problem. No charge.

Positive: The room was clean and exactly as described. The location is perfect for exploring Kamares, walkable to and from the port even with baggage, with plenty of restaurants to choose from a short stroll away. Also, the beach is a short, easy walk down the short hill. The owner, Maria, is friendly and even provided one of her homemade orange cakes for us to enjoy.

Negative: Booking.com sometimes does not pay for the room when you book, just confirms the booking. Since we were using a French eSIM card during our travels, it wasn't known to me that we had to pay the hotel directly and not assume the credit card we supplied covered for our stay. Interestingly, we booked two rooms at the same time at the hotel, one was covered by the card and the other was not. This led to needless confusion with the owners as we were leaving the island, which we settled - and none of that was their fault. I simply can't understand why Booking.com can let a card pay for one room next door to a room that can't be paid by the same card in the same hotel on the same day.
