The Menehune property is located in Kuau Point, a residential sea-side outcropping near Paia, on Maui's well-loved North Shore. It is a quick walk to the Kuau Channel for sunset relaxation or advanced windsurfer's launch to sail with the locals. Beginner and intermediate windsurfers can drive to Kanaha Beach, with sand, shade and lessons!! Traveling with little ones? Menehune House is a short walk over to the tide pool beach in front of Mama's Fish House. This charming “beach house” style home offers three bedrooms (1 king and 2 queen size beds) and two full baths along with a well equipped kitchen boasting a Viking gas stove and an island, great kitchen for sharing meals with your family! Open beam ceilings, original hardwood floors throughout, open flow between kitchen/dining/living. A/C unit in each bedroom and living room; ceiling fan throughout. The house feels reminiscent of Paia's plantation days!
The Menehune House features a small private yard and outdoor shower set in a tropical garden setting. Enjoy meals outdoors with the outdoor dining furniture and gas BBQ. The property also offers a one car garage perfect to store your boards and sails as well as a detached laundry room and parking for up to 2 cars. Beach chairs, beach towels and a cooler are provided for your relaxing beach days. And of course, we hope you'll leave your work at home, but just in case, there is a Wifi connection.
You are a short stroll away from the Kuau Store deli, trendy and convenient, healthy food to go, groceries and even Expresso!! Open 6.30am - 7pm daily. Walk through the neighborhood to the #1 rated beach front restaurant on Maui, Mama's Fish House.
In just a couple of minutes by car you are at Ho'okipa beach for more windsurfing & surfing action, or relaxing on the beautiful sandy beach to watch it all happen! Advanced kiting launch nearby. Just 15 minutes from Kahului Airport (OGG), and centrally located to many other Maui attractions, such as seeing the sunrise from Haleakala crater or driving the beautiful winding road to Hana.
The middle of Paia town is just a couple of minutes (by car) to the west of Menehune House. Paia is the home of Mana Foods for fresh organic one-stop shopping, and a splendid mix of restaurants, coffee-shops, trendy boutiques, bank, and post office. All the best North Shore beaches surround Paia, including Baldwin Beach, perfect for early morning walks or a swim.
House Rules:
1. Neighbors - Please be considerate of our neighbors. Noise carries easily to their homes, particularly in the evening. NO loud music, NO parties, NO amplified sound of any nature at any time. Many neighbors must be up early in the morning to go to work, and it's important that your use of this property does not impact them in any way.
2. Quiet Hours - Quiet time is from 9pm to 8am.
3. Use of the Property - Additional friends/family CANNOT be invited to the property and it cannot be used as a “meeting place”. The property can be used ONLY by the guests listed on the rental agreement. The County law allows us to accommodate a maximum of two guests x the number of bedrooms, so a total of 6 (including children) for Menehune House.
4. Parking - There is plenty of parking on the property. Vehicles CANNOT be parked on the street at any time. When vehicles are on the street, there is insufficient space for emergency vehicles, fire trucks, the trash truck or neighbors to get down the road.
5. Minimum of 1 guest must meet the minimum age requirement of 25.
At the time of booking, we'll forward the property rental agreement for review and acceptance. Additional information with respect to care and maintenance of the house will be included in the rental agreement. Payment is accepted by check, VISA or MC. For guests preferring to use VISA or MC, a 2% processing fee will be added.

Summary: This little house was perfect for us because we wanted to be a part of the paia neighborhood. The house is thoughtfully laid out, comfortable and full of warm touches: the outside shower, useable kitchen, and I loved the cross ventilation the windows provided. The market has everything and it's yummy. The beach next to mama's is the best secret spot. Thank you Cathy for being prompt and responsive and Norm for such a spotless cleaning job.

Summary: We had a great stay. The house was clean, comfortable, and had all things you need to have a great stay and vacation. Even included electric teapot.. all needed small appliances. Also had beach toys and chairs! Located right by a popular local market with fresh Poke! So good! Would stay again.

Summary: The pictures actually do not do the property justice. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful well appointed interior with everything you would need. Perfect backyard for morning coffee while watching the birds. Four minute walk to Mommas beach where you can view turtles and relax for as long as you want. We found this location to be perfectly located to experience everything Maui has to offer. We also met the owner of the property who was so kind and talked enthusiastically about how she made this home away from home so special!!

Summary: This was a lovely house and we had a great time. Lovely hang out spots outdoors, as well as ample space inside for a group of five. Hosts were communicative and easy going. Really appreciated everything and the location was great also, walking distance to the beach for morning sunrises and right next to a wonderful store and coffee shop. Five stars all around, with one small note about the outdoor hot tub. It’s really an indoor Jacuzzi that needs to be filled every time you want to use it, and there is a note that says there may not be enough hot water to fill it from the solar heating system. It’s also smaller than we thought -for about two people. Since there were five of us, we didn’t even try it, though we had been looking forward to having a hot tub. It may have worked just fine, and would probably work for a couple or a smaller group. For us it seems like a lot of work, and possibly a little bit wasteful with water and taxing on the heating system to get five people in so I can’t speak to that amenity. Otherwise, five stars, and everything was fantastic! Thank you!

Summary: Such a wonderful secluded quiet Hawaiian experience- beautiful location right on the road to Hana and near the quaint town of Paia. Everything in the home was perfect for our adult family of 5. We used and enjoyed everything. Tons of fun was had at the ocean’s tidal pool- a perfect place to swim, sun & enjoy watching the giant turtles. The outdoor tub was unique and a perfect place to Star gaze. There was even a little corner store within walking distance with tons of great merch, & delicious food, coffee & wine at reasonable price and a well stocked Safeway only 5 miles down the road. Do yourself a big favor & book this place if you can!

Summary: The house is well located, very clean, very well stocked, well groomed small yard with tropical plants all around. We had read reviews about a Tide Pool within walking distance and it did not disappoint. There were turtles on the rocks the first time we were there, turtles on the beach the second visit and very rough waters with big splashes and no beach another time. Although it isn't real large, the spa tub. was also very nice. Be sure and keep your doors closed to keep the little Maui pests out. If we ever get back to Maui we will definitely plan our trip around Menehune House being available!!
