Positive: We had a wonderful stay at Melissani House as a group of friends. The view from the balcony was absolutely breathtaking — we loved sitting there in the evenings, enjoying the atmosphere. The house was very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped: the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and enjoying meals together. We also appreciated the beach umbrellas provided for our trips to the seaside. We felt very well taken care of.

Negative: On the first night, there was some construction work going on next door late at night, which disturbed us a bit.

Summary: A beautiful and comfortable place to relax and enjoy the island with friends!

Positive: There was someone there to meet us and give us the keys. The appartement had great views and was a good location to go to different attractions. We had no problems parking our rental car and melissani lake was only a short walk. The walk to sami along the coast only takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It was also very nice to walk down de hill to the pebble beach to swim. Because the water comming from melissani cave enters the sea there the water is not as warm as in other places. I personly liked that because it allowed me to cool of after some very warm days. Before we arrived we asked the owner for a reccomentdation for a rental car company, and she knew someone so the day we arrived we had a little rental car that we could use. Would very much recommend staying here.

Negative: This is small thing but there was no airconditioning in the living room. The ones in the bedrooms worked perfectly. The following is not on the owners of the property and just a tip. As far as I can tell the streets are not really named. If you get a tranfers from the airport tell the driver the location. Ours dropped us of at a hotel in Sami named Melissani hotel. So we had to get a other taxi. If you use booking.com ad in the description or tell the driver that the house is located 50 meters from Melissani cave, that it is the pink house on the corner (it is also easier to put melissani cave into google to navigate back if you rent a car). We did that when we went back and the transfer worked perfectly. This was our mistake when we arrived.

Positive: We have been here for 10 days with three kids. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, good equipped kitchen, 2 balconies with a view into the sea. Wonderful view to Sami lagoon. Apartments are in the 2nd floor (English manner - 1st floor), and masters live in the 1st floor (ground floor), so we have got enough attention. There was water (still and sparkling), tea, coffee, honey, jam, milk and a lot of amenities in the kitchen. Masters gave us to taste their traditional hot and cold food. It must be stressed that masters were very polite, not obtrusive. Apartments were being cleaned, towels, bed-clothes were changed. Good conditioners, Wi-Fi connections. We got even two keys from apartments.

Negative: Apartments are nearby Melisani lake, so buses and cars start going from 9 a.m. And it frightens. However, house has good isolation (it is rare in Greece), so you may not worry about your rest.

Positive: A quiet location quite close to a rocky beach. Wonderful cafe and bakery nearby with a taverna by the sea a few minutes walk away. Spacious accommodation with wonderful views and a balcony which we used for drawing, and reading. Excellent kitchen and bathrooms. Good WiFi. Wonderful hosts who were welcoming, generous and friendly.

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: For a peaceful holiday, this is excellent accommodation.

Positive: An amazing apartment that was super clean and spacious in a picturesque town a 2 minutes walk from the majestic Melissani caves. It was also less than 20 min drive to Myrtos beach and even closer to antisamos beach. Highly, highly recommend this property as it was extremely clean, spacious with every possible amenity for my family of six including air condition in all 3 bedrooms and the hosts were the loveliest people. They are the epitome of Greek philotimo and kindness. They had thoughtfully provided food and snacks for the children and even came over to deliver fresh eggs, tomatoes from the garden and even home made tiropita. I would highly recommend staying here if you visit the magical island of Kefalonia and hope to visit Melissani house again in the near future. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Positive: Lovely spacious clean apartment with incredible views and an excellent coffee maker! Hosts were very kind in allowing us a late checkout. Just a short walk from Melissani cave and in a gorgeous, peaceful spot. Karavomylos square was just a few minutes walk away, as were a number of small pretty beaches.

Negative: Karavomylos was quieter than we expected for early September. The town had only a handful of restaurants and most didn’t open until the evening. The mini market was permanently closed as well. It’s a gorgeous walk along the coast to Sami but takes 25-30 minutes. Not a problem if you have a car of course but we didn’t so spent a lot of time walking!

Positive: High quality accommodation on first floor of large 3 bedroom air conditioned apartment. Great view of sea and the island of ithaca. Opposite. Quiet location but just 250 yards from shingle beach. Ideal for enjoying the tranquility of kefalonia but beach and boats are not far off.

Negative: Well furnished kitchen with modern coffee maker and 50 nestle pods supplied gratis. Microwave would have been handy

Positive: It was a perfect holiday, thank you so much! The apartment is bigger than expected, every room has a balcony, all three bed rooms have air conditioning, all rooms are perfectly equipped - the kitchen has everything you might need and more - even cleaning tools, bags, clips.... The coffee machine was insane, different flavours from Cappuccino to espresso, vanille latte... two different kind of cereals for the kids, water in the fridge, chocolate..... There are toys for the beach, umbrellas, books, games like backgammon. The house is perfectly clean, we stayed one week and were asked every day if we wanted new bed sheets, towels.. We got home made cake, thank you again for that! The house is perfect for exploring Kefalonia, it takes 5 minutes on foot to Melissani Lake, it is a short distance to wonderful beaches like antisamos or perskavi. There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance, also a small mini market. The Port and town of sami is 5 minutes with car. We enjoyed every minute, thanks again for this wonderful holiday!
