Positive: It was a lovely, spacious, clean and quiet spot set in an amazing location. The facilities were great and it was the perfect location to get out and explore all of Northumberland! The books the hosts provided in the house for walks in the area, and also the information about the history of the building were great added bonuses and hugely appreciated!

Negative: Nothing.

Summary: Comfortable, clean and great location - we would definitely stay here again!

Positive: Great location for exploring Northumberland. Rooms are spacious, light and airy. We enjoyed watching the bats in the evening.

Negative: Disappointed that the diswasher was out of order. We found the double bed very uncomfortable. While the property was as described with access from the rear, we were frustrated not to be able to see any of the house and grounds.

Positive: Absolutely loved it. It was quiet and peaceful and just perfect

Negative: The stairs needed a really good dust and just a suggestion but a couple of coffee mugs for a larger drink in the morning would be great. Please take these two things as petty as it was a lovely break in a perfect part of the country

Negative: We were rather disappointed if not surprised to find workmen had access the property while out for the day and were still accessing it on our return. I may have be more an understanding if it had been an an emergency which it was not. Also if they had asked us before hand. It really is not acceptable to let out a property for our exclusive use and then access it during that period which we had paid good money for.

Positive: Well appointed and comfortable in beautiful location. Charming original features. Hosts (and 'neighbours') very accommodating and friendly.

Negative: Slight potential issue with rather steep stone stairs for older guests perhaps. Restoration work on the main house could be intrusive but everyone was as accommodating as possible and made it easy to take an interest in their activities.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyable stay at Meldon Cottage. We would certainly recommend.
