Whether you want to step away from the city life, have a quiet weekend, a girl’s trip, or a blast with your family at the beach, this is the place for you! You will be greeted with modern amenities and a fantastic lake view!
Our newly updated large family home offers a billiards room, arcade room, shuffleboard, large kitchen, laundry room, screened porch, and so much more! Both floors offer great views of the lake.
Step away from your normal chaos and let us pamper you with our lake home! You can cozy up and read a book, sit on the beach, take out the kayaks, enjoy a game night in and order pizza, or whatever makes you relax. We have provided you with a coffee machine for your morning views of the lake! A gas grill and utensils are provided to have a bbq lakeside also! We have kayaks, and some beach gear for you to enjoy. This home offers a lot of arcade style games for indoor fun as well! These include: pool table. shuffleboard, pac man arcade, arcade basketball, air hockey, ping pong, lots of board games, and puzzles! Come the evening, take a break next to the fire pit under the stars!
We own the beach directly in front of the house ending at the large sycamore tree. Please note that beach access varies with the level of the lake and the Illinois River. Generally, beach availability is only affected in early Spring if at all when river levels are high.
Guests are welcome to bring their own boats and jet skis to put into the water. Ramp access is not far from the home. Please just let us know prior to leave you the key to the public ramp.
Guests are welcome to bring floats and any beach/ pool like items to enjoy in the water. While we have spent a lot of time cleaning the beach and yard, we do recommend water shoes. There is no current in the lake. Don’t forget your fishing gear! Life jackets are provided with the kayaks. Please use with caution and swim at your own risk.
Some good bug spray is a must! Being on the water and sand, their are lots of different crawling and flying insects. Keeping the lights off in the evening outside, and the doors shut, will help this issue a lot. We spray around the house, but the critters are inevitable.
Our home is on a busy highway with semi traffic. We recommend eat plugs if noise will bother. We recommend a sleep mask as we have skylights.
Havana is a historic town and newly updated with lots of shopping and boutiques! There are quite a few great places to eat. Lewistown and canton are both close with some fun things to do! Peoria and Springfield are both within an hour drive.
We are close to: State Ridge State Forest, Dickson Mounds, Big Horse Winery, Chautauqua National Park, Spring Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area, Emiquon Nature Preserve, Rice Lake State Fish and Wildlife Park, Orchard Hill Apple Orchard, Lakeland park, and Big Creek Park.

Summary: Great home, minutes from downtown Havana. Highly recommend for families with high school aged children. Big lake and the 4 kayaks are wonderful to take out and just float in the water for hours. The house is filled with games/pool table/Pac-man arcade game, you name it you get it here. Many wineries in the area as well for the adults!!

Summary: Cassie's place is a very nice home with an amazing view and sky lights that make you think you left the lights on even in the day; so bright! I LOVED IT! The beds were great - ample hot water - (I suggest bringing bottled water) refrigerator kicks is really nice. Stove is gas and that is my preferred method of cooking so I was super pleased with that. First night we had Pizza Hut deliver so yes, even out there you can get some great convivences. Reason of the stay was to sit for my grandson while my daughter worked this weekend - an Emergency Rm RN so the long hours I just kept him for the weekend. n addition I brought my elderly mother and my brother whom both have some mobility issues so they could visit with him as well. There are two points to this back story: 1. The house is pleasantly supplied with quite a bit of baby needs!!! That I was extremely grateful for even though I brought my swing from home and of course a few other things as well. 2. Having a little one.. a 11 am check out would had been better than 10 am. Between packing up for him and my mother and brother as well as myself; cleaning and putting stuff up nice; etc - by the time I got done I was exhausted feeling like I just ran a marathon. The extra hour would have been a nice buffer.. Had it just been me.. the 10 am checkout would not be an issue. Overall though seriously - I give this home a overall 5 star rating. :-)

Summary: We had a wonderful experience at this property. Everything we needed was there in the kitchen. The house is very nice and clean. The kids had a blast with all the fun things to do. The beds were comfortable. We cannot wait to return during warmer months! Thank you!!

Summary: There was plenty to entertain a family ranging for 3 to 63. There was a really nice deck to sit out on and watch the kids play in the water and kayak and a nice little beach area for the little ones to play in the sand. Inside the house there was plenty of space for our family of 11 to spread out and enjoy the time we had together from playing pool, shuffle board, arcade games up stairs or just hanging out watching a movie together. All in all this was the perfect spot for our family to meet and enjoy a weekend together. It’s definitely house we would consider renting again.
