This exquisite log home, fondly called The Lumberjack Lodge, is located in the Chestnut Valley Golf Club Development, in Northern Michigan. This is the perfect home for group or family getaways!
Location-location-location! It is very close very close to downhill skiing (can you say Nubs Nob and Boyne Highlands are only 10 minutes away!). There are cross-country and snowmobile trails are right out your front door. Golfer? Novice or professionals alike will enjoy the golfing at Chesnut Valley!
Lakes, trails, hunting, biking, farmers markets, fishing, oh my! If you want it, I am sure you will be able to find it! And then there's Lake Michigan and the dozen of wonderful inland lakes that are only a few minutes from this spacious cabin.
With 8 bedrooms (first floor master suite) and multiple sleeper sofas you can relax comfortably and claim your own space if you need to :)

Summary: This is a beautiful home in Northern Michigan with close proximity to Boyne Highlands. We had a group of 5 couples over the age of 50 that went up north to enjoy a fun weekend away on the Enchanted Walk at Boyne Highlands, play cards/games, eat great food and enjoy each others company. The size of the home accommodated our group nicely. All the couples appreciated having the option of a queen bed or king bed to sleep on. The layout in the basement in regards to the bathroom location is a bit odd, but we made it work. Everyone enjoyed the outdoor hot tub! On a side note: Upon arrival there were dishes in the dishwasher, crumbs on the counter and on the floor by the stools, old ice bags in the freezer and goo on the shelf in the fridge. We cleaned up kitchen area, wiped down counters, emptied dishwasher and then settled in. The rest of the house was clean and good to go. Maybe the previously group was not diligent in helping upon their exit? There were a few issues with a smoke detector beeping intermittently, windows not closing completely in master bedroom main floor and window by the door leading out to the hot tub, and the door exiting to hot tub would not lock. We were planning to use the outdoor grill, but chose not to because it does need a thorough cleaning. We did let the cleaning staff know of the issues upon departure to relay to property management.

Summary: This house was the perfect home base for our winter break ski trip. There’s was plenty for the kids to do and the proximity to Nub’s Nob was great. We had plenty of space for everyone to relax after skiing all day. We just loved it! Thank you for hosting us.

Summary: What was to have been a fishing trip on Captiva Island was quickly changed to a golfing trip in Northern Michigan due to hurricane Ian. Our hearts go out to all those who lost their lives and have had lives upended. The “lodge” was the perfect place for our group of 10. With 8 bedrooms and lots of baths, we fit nicely in the space. The large living room/dining/kitchen area keeps everyone together well for socializing. I would highly recommend this place to large groups for year round enjoyment.

Summary: We had an excellent stay here! The house was very large with open common areas as well as separated sleeping quarters for all guests. The house was clean upon arrival and had all amenities. The host was prompt in returning messages and very friendly. Would recommend and love to stay here again.

Summary: We had four families with children ranging in age from 8 to 14. We were looking for a place that could comfortably hold all of us on a long ski weekend. The lumberjack lodge absolutely was the perfect place for us. It is an absolutely beautiful property and it looks even nicer in person. We were all blown away when we first walked in. It had enough rooms and spaces to fit each of us comfortably. Our younger boys especially loved having their own area in the loft space over the garage. Everyone else found a place to spread out. Stacey was by far the easiest host we’ve worked with and was extremely quick to answer any questions. She addressed one minor snag very quickly. We can’t say enough about the host and the property. We hope to come back again!
