Positive: The house was immaculate, bed was super comfy! Basically everything was perfect. Mary is the most amazing host, I really recommend to everyone! Already can’t wait to go back!

Positive: The location suited us for a one night stay in Castlewellan. The communication from Mary was excellent, all the instructions were very clear and we found the house easy enough. We had a couple issues on arriving and Mary was very quick to get back to me. The bed was really comfortable and everywhere in the house was very clean. The town of Castlewellan itself offers a good range of places to eat and plenty of bars to explore! Castlewellan Forest park is on its doorstep and offers some lovely walks (and water sports such as kayaking but we didn't try any of that out).
Negative: We had expected an ensuite room - when I contacted Mary on our arrival she explained that it had been booked a good while back so it appears there was some issue with the details on booking.com itself. Mary was lovely dealing with this and although unable to change the situation, she did offer us a second night at reduced rate although we were unable to take up that offer. Not being ensuite was a minor issue and I have at least learned to clarify these kinds of details on future bookings through this site. A note on getting in to the town - it is about a 20 minute walk and most of it is uphill! We got a taxi there which only cost £4 and had the more pleasant downhill walk on our return later in the evening.
