Summary: To tell you the truth I didn’t want to stay at an i have had bad experiences at a few inns in the past. But the Martin Inn has changed my mind from the gardens to the room the Martin inn is far above any inn I have stayed at in the past and it is not that far of a walk from downtown Portsmouth. The Martin inn has off street parking in the back as you walk to your room you go through a wonderfully kept garden which made my wife jealous. Which we spend a little while in on our last night there. I will definitely be back in the future. Thank you to the Martin inn for a wonderful place to stay keep up the great work.

Summary: Great spot walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants of downtown Portsmouth! Room was larger than anticipated and very comfortable, with a separate sitting area. Parking in the lot and the surrounding area is easy. The only detractor would be thin walls (to be expected with the age of the home). We neither saw nor heard from any staff, but nor did we require any assistance. Would certainly consider staying here again!

Summary: Very nice place, beautiful room. Only negative was the heat at night. Radiator not working, very chilly. Contact said there was a blue tooth sensor, but we never got above 64 on our thermometer.

Summary: Awesome spot. Bed a little soft for our tastes but linens and towels very nice and decor was very tasteful.

Summary: Becareful when booking a room at Martin Hill Inn through Hotels.com. Hotels.com gave an option to put a deposit down but the Inn doesn't except that, they take the full payment, so I canceled the reservation thinking I made a mistake. I rebooked and it happened again. I called the Inn and it took them awhile to get back to me. I was told because they were on vacation. So who takes care of the Inn. I booked a room with a soaker tub and when I arrived there was no soaker tub, was told by the Inn there was a new onwner and took out all tubs. There was a snow storm over the weekend and the grounds of the Inn was poorly taken care of. Had to tromp through snow and walk on ice.
