Positive: We had a fantastic time, Sanal and his family made us feel really welcome and took us on a tour of local spots. Delicious breakfast in the morning and super comfortable bed. The house is based in a village away from the tourist traps of Kochi Fort, there's a tea shop round the corner and some beautiful relaxing walks. Highly recommended!

Positive: The hosts are really nice and are there to help you and suggest/arrange you things. The breakfast was fantastic, every day different and tasty + fruit as well. I really enjoyed sitting on their balcony in the evenings and watch the moon. The room was clean with a big cupboard and AC as well. There was hot water in the bathroom. The surrounding is quiet and peaceful, yet very near to the main road where you can even take the local buses. The wifi is weak, so if you need better wifi ask them for the one they use. I'm sure you will like this place, too.

Negative: The beaches are dirty - so if you want to go swimming, this is not a good place. Even Cherai beach is very dirty, I decided not to go into the water.

Positive: Even if only for a few days, Maliyakal Homestay truly felt like a ‘home away from home’. The hosts, Mr Sanal & Mrs Selvi, are amazing people, welcoming and always keen to ensure the stay is going well. The room itself was great; spotlessly clean, A/C and with a comfy mattress, which isn’t always the case in India. There is also a desk in case you need to work remotely. The en-suite bathroom was equipped with power shower and spotless. I declined the dinner option during my stay however I had breakfast every day and it gave me the possibility to taste real Kerala food, freshly made and enjoy seasonal fruits too. Full access is also provided to the upstairs kitchen and coffee/tea making facilities are available. The house also has a typical Kerala style terrace which was the ideal spot to enjoy coffees and read, surrounded by luscious trees. As for the location, the house is set in a small, quaint village. It is very quiet and it’s the ideal spot to get away from the chaos for a few days. I had the chance to explore some of the nearby beaches, villages and interact with many of the locals (thanks also to Mr Sanal who took the time to share advice and also show me around). He is very knowledgeable and truly passionate about sharing information about the area and Kerala culture in general. He is also a certified tour guide. Overall I had an amazing experience and I will definitely go back during my next trip to Kerala. Highly recommended. Grazie mille :)

Positive: A great family! The staff îs very friendly, helpfull,smiley, careful. În a quite area, few minutes walking to bus and tuk tuk station. 10 minutes to beach by tuk tuk. Lot of shops very close. 5 minutes walking from a bar. A very good breakfast and dinner at homestay. The room, living and kitchen very big. AC and hot water.Thank you very much, I will again there.

Positive: Fabulous host's beautiful property it's more like an apartment than a room. Big shared lounge with dinning table large kitchen fab balcony. It's in a quiet area but that suited us maybe not for some. Saying that there are lots of buses that can quickly whisk you to fort Kochi or further up the coast. The family that ran it are amazing it was like we became part of their family immediately. we ate a couple of evening meals at the property superb and at a great price. If you want to relax but be able to go into the busy area i would totally recommend it.
