Positive: Mala Ki Dhani holds a very special place in my heart. This is not a touristic getaway, it is a genuine homestay with a wonderful family who welcome you wholeheartedly into their lives. We had specifically been searching for a desert stay that wasn't one of the large glamping camps filled with bright lights and crowds of tourists. Mala Ki Dhani offered exactly what we were hoping for: an authentic experience that provided genuine insight into daily life in this part of India. Life here is simple and reflects the realities of living in the desert. Don't expect electricity or modern amenities. Instead, come with an open mind and a willingness to experience a different way of life, enjoy the sweet animals they have on site, and spend time w/the children. We visited in june, which was hot, but Om will make sure you are comfortable, have a place to store your things safely and sleep comfortably (even under the stars when the weather allows), can freshen up, and have food, chai, and cold drinking water available. We also did a super lovely camel safari - we were the only people there, we drank chai in the sand dunes, and they let us have a super cute and romantic sunset experience with just us. The family makes the most of what they have, and their generosity is remarkable. What made our stay truly unforgettable was the connection we formed with the family. We played football and cricket together, shared meals, and were even gifted saris to wear. Within a very short time, we felt less like guests and more like friends and even family. staying here is a meaningful way to directly support this family and their way of life. The warmth, kindness, and positivity of Om and his family are extraordinary. Their ability to find joy in everyday life is inspiring, and spending time with them gave us a renewed appreciation for many of the things we often take for granted. We arrived as guests and left feeling like family.

Whether it's sitting down together for a home cooked meal, receiving a henna artwork, sleeping outside under the moonlight, petting the family goats, riding camels, or visiting the nearby village, Om and his family will welcome you with curiosity and open arms - we were even lucky enough to witness the start of a Rajasthani rural wedding in Om's birthplace.

Positive: Staying at Mala Ki Dhani was a life-affirming experience for me. In just 3 days, I experienced so much kindness from Om ji, his family, and the other guests. On day 1, Om picked me up from the airport in his Jeep and drove me to his house in the desert north of Jaisalmer. Here we ate tasty food freshly prepared by his wife. Om organised a desert safari for us in a peaceful area of the dunes, where we ate food around the fire under thousands of stars. On day 2, we played cricket with Om’s children before heading to his family home in the village nearby. Here we were greeted by his parents and lots of local children who were keen to play games and show us around. Later that evening, everyone helped out cooking and ate together around the fire. I chose to sleep out under the stars on a cosy charpai. On day 3, we had a relaxing morning eating poha for breakfast before being dropped off back in Jaisalmer to see the fort and Havelis. Om bought me meetha pan to try, and we bid farewell. I’m so glad I chose to stay at Mala Ki Dhani. I experienced Jaisalmer and so much more! Hoping to return soon.

Positive: Mala Ki dhani was an unforgettable experience and a miniscule mirror of Bharat's grand old civilization. For someone from a bustling city looking for peace and quiet of the countryside, it is heaven. An authentic Rajasthani village abode nestled among sand stone hillocks, with a tiny temple on top, overlooking the scenery, as if to bless it, Mala ki Dhani and it's lovely people, food, sunshine and starry sky, have forever colored my existence.
