Positive: The house was clean and had the necessary amenities.

Negative: The communication with the host, both pre- and post-arrival, was extremely poor and chaotic. The host never sent information on check-in. Booking.com intervened as well, but it didn't help either. In the end, we had to phone a number in Australia (there was no local contact)!! Even that did not work out due to the time difference. Booking.com told us to just go to the address in any case, as cancellation was not possible anymore. They said we could be relocated to another accommodation if no info arrived. Finally, we received the check-in info just hours before our arrival. We were with a baby. It was not pleasant at all! Host puts you in a WhatsApp group chat with 6 other people, and you're supposed to communicate via that channel. FYI, it was only the host (in Australia!!!) who would reply at all and in the time zone when responses would be arriving way late into the evening. We were extremely cold in the house. The temperature kept dropping, and there was no way to keep it stable. It was below 17°C at some points. They've some remote way of controlling the temperatures, and it went completely off at certain times of the day. When we mentioned this to the host, he was completely indifferent. Sent us a long message and then deleted it. Basically, he told us to go to bed (it was not even 10 pm then), that he checked the temperatures which was all fine, and not to change it. We felt like being watched! It was horrible. The way we were told off was extremely annoying. Our baby was very cold. We had to give her extra blankets to keep warm. I absolutely do not recommend staying here. The location is very soulless, and there are houses right in front that are abandoned and in bad shape. Overall, look for alternatives if you care for peace of mind and being warm at night.

Positive: We absolutely loved the decor of the house, a wonderful atmosphere and very comfortable. The garden was lovely and we spent many sunny spring afternoons there.

Negative: The location is great when it comes to amenities, you have some glorious walks nearby and we'd recommend the Matisse museum also. The only negative thing we could think of was that at night the neighbourhood was slightly noisy, but overall an excellent stay would definitely recommend and return!

Positive: The house was spotlessly clean and facilities were to a very high standard. The owner was a really kind and pleasant person to deal with. Key code worked . Nice garden and patio area. Friendly neighbours. Street parking but not a problem. Comfortable bed. Kitchen equipment plentiful and top quality. 2 supermarkets a few minutes walk away. Excellent cycling through St Aybert to the canal and various routes on the well surfaced towpaths. Really nice cycle routes area at Chabaud -Latour , about 30 minute bicycle ride away. A good place, I will stay again.

Positive: We enjoyed this wonderful house much. Very friendly owners. Exactly as it is shown in the pictures and fully equipped with all the facilities. Close to some interesting towns both on the French and the Belgian sides. Also relatively close to Charleroi Aiport.

Negative: Nothing. Maybe just the bad weather that didn't allow us to travel around.

Positive: It was clean, and was beautifully furnished. The interiors had the look of the setting of a classic movie, or one of those Poirot episodes. I liked the blue bedroom the most. And for our group the house was quite spacious. It was also a very short walking distance from the local supermarket.
