Positive: Great location within easy walking distance to the centre of Bergerac. Lovely room, a welcoming bottle of wine and fresh peaches picked from their own tree, lovely swimming pool with deck chairs and fabulous hosts. Sandra and Carsten couldn’t do enough for us and made our stay excellent even providing us with bicycles to explore the area.

Negative: Absolutely nothing not to like.

Positive: Sandra and Carsten have created a haven of peace and tranquility. They are the warmest and kindest of hosts providing delicious breakfasts on the terrace with gorgeous home made jams and a wide variety of pastries and dishes for all tastes. They also provided us with bikes which we used every day to cycle into Bergerac and to go swimming in the local lake which was divine. We had a spacious room and bathroom overlooking the extensive gardens where we relaxed under the shade of the trees. Our hosts were attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our experience of MaisonAubergerac was way beyond our expectations and we’d love to return.

Positive: The owners were lovely, breakfast choices were great and property lovely with lovely shower .. didn’t use the pool but it was all beautifully presented

Positive: Set in park-like grounds, the restored and extended building was ‘of the region’, well appointed and with a sense of style. The hosts were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful but not intrusive. Breakfasts were excellent and the cafe au lait the best we have had in France.

Negative: As we didn’t have our own transport, the brisk 25-30min walk to the heart of the old city would not be pleasant in the height of summer. Bikes were offered, however.

Summary: A relaxing interlude in our busy holiday with excellent hosts.

Positive: Sandra, Carsten and beautiful Pluto have been exquisite throughout our stay. Their generosity and hospitality has been above and beyond. We have been fortunate to have met good honest and genuine people. Their home is incredible, and the back yard is more like a forest. Oh and Carsten's garage, think of it as Noah's Ark! The poole is massive! and the room we stayed in was ideal for 2 people and its wheelchair friendly. Refreshments were always being given to us and the room tidied. Breakfast was so delicious, the choice of food is all healthy, even Pluto wanted to eat with us, haha My wife and I normally struggle socialising but Sandra and Carsten made it effortless and created a relaxed environment for us to open up. Carsten setup 2 bikes for us to ride into the cities and one bike was from their neighbour. The friendship they have with the community and the locals is like a novel or a place of dreams that do come true. We were fortunate to be apart of this dream for 3 nights. It was soul destroying to leave, but we will be back and bearing gifts!
