The immediate surroundings are in the heart of nature (vineyards, hills, forests, scrubland) along a no exit road. A LUXURIOUS CONTEMPORARY HOUSE
La Calissane is a traditional “Provencal mas” outside and a ECO-friendly luxurious contemporary house inside. The house has been furnished with love, offering you the state-of-the-art of comfort and amenities : a swimming pool biologically eppurated (without chlorine), air conditioning in every room (powered by heat pump). The master bedroom comes with a private en suite complete bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. The walls in polished concrete, the ceramic or wooden floors give them a very cosy and contemporary atmosphere. You will also enjoy high speed internet, satellite TV with international channels and home cinema. For the gourmets, the kitchen is equipped with everything they can dream.
PLENTY OF THINGS TO DO
You will start the day after a fresh, relaxing and absolutely silent night. The sunshine illuminates the house. Open the windows and have your breakfast on the terrace, listening only to the birds and the cicadas. Then you may choose to go for a swim in our infinity swimming pool. You will appreciate the softness of the water chlorine-free.
Or you may decide to go the village of Bras and buy some bread, fresh vegetables from local producers, newspaper, meat and everything you may need. On Wednesday you will experience the famous typical provençal market of Saint-Maximin facing the XI th century Basilique. You may visit the rests of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine, yes, the one of the book, in the crypt. Or if you are there at the end of July, you will have the unique opportunity to participate to the procession : Marie-Madeleine is convoyed in the streets of the town followed by the habitants singing in provençal... a unique, quite impressive experience.
On other days you may spend hours walking in the beautiful streets of Aix-en-Provence and visit its museums, boutiques or enjoy the terraces of the Cours Mirabeau. This attractive and refined city is really like a small Paris.
You may also like to visit numerous vineyards around Bras and Saint-Maximin and taste the famous Coteaux Varois. Or go to the beach at Cassis, Hyères or Saint-Tropez. Cooking is electric low consumption (induction). The walls and the roof are highly isolated. The water of the pool is biologically epurated through a no-chlorine BIO-UV system. The linens and towels are dried in the open air. The spotlights are low-consumption type. So may we ask our guests to take care and help us to preserve this exceptional environment.

Summary: Hello, we spent two wonderful weeks at La Calisanne in August this year. The Provence style villa is elegant, spacious and very comfortable. You'll discover a house styled with great taste and high quality. The garden is beautiful and one gets overwhelmed by the stunning view on the mountains. The infinity pool has a natural water-look thanks to a black liner and is great to swim in. The garden has also a field for "petanque", table tennis and a Weber premium barbecue, all in good shape. Both the owner and the housekeeper were very organized, warm and very responsive. We would definitely recommend this place, this paradise on earth. Astrid and Guido.

Summary: We had a fabulous stay at this beautiful property with the most amazing pool and views. The only slight downside was the WiFi didn't work very well but other than that couldn't fault it.

Summary: We were there with our 2 kids and we enjoyed a lot our holidays. The house is classy, proper, everything new, with nice bedrooms (quiet airco), each its "design" bathroom. Kitchen is well equipped, nice Weber Gaz barbecue. Swimming pool is great, warm, chlorine free and with a wonderful view. Next to this we enjoyed the tennis table & pétanque strip. Our girl enjoyed the wonderful piano in the living room. No view on the neighbors, very quite. Very good contacts with the owners, you see they take care of their property but also of the happiness of the tenant. The person who has welcomed us was also very kind and helpful. I would for sure recommend this place and the picture are really describing well the place.

Summary: We spent a wonderful week at La Calisanne in July this year. The house was elegant, spacious and bright. A fully equipped kitchen, a nice living room with a big screen tv and grand piano, a storage/laundry room with an extra fridge, and four bedrooms with modern bathrooms made the house very pleasant and comfortable. The highlight of the place was the pool (chlorine free) and an unobstructed view over the hills and trees. The garden had also a field for the "petanque" game, table tennis, and barbecue.This allowed everybody to enjoy their favorite activities in total independence. Both the owner and the housekeeper were very organized and responsive and everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend the place. The house offers a magnificent environment and the region is splendid: a perfect combination for the most desirable holidays.

Summary: We a family with 2 kids and their two friends have visited La Calisanne now for the second time. Like the last time the house was in an excellent condition - everything was well prepared and the check-in and check-out was professionell and very friendly organized. The location is just as wonderful as it is described. The landscape is amazing, the little provencal towns are worth visiting and Aix-en Provence is in closer distance to reach. We enjoyed very much our time in Bras and we would love to come back when possible.

Summary: Amazing. Photos do not do La Calisanne justice. The setting is perfect -- in the hills above a small Provencal town, overlooking a valley of vineyards, small towns, and mountains in the distance. The infinity pool is right out of a movie. We spent every afternoon and evening (and some nights) lounging in the pool, amazed at our luck in finding this spot. The house has been beautifully updated. It looks like a very traditional French house from the outside, but the inside is completely updated. Very modern, tasteful and clean. ACs in every room worked very well, even in 100 degree heat. Beautiful kitchen and luxurious baths. The kitchen is completely decked out with everything. We cooked large meals there 6 of our 7 nights and loved it. The town of Bras is very small, but we ventured about an hour away (or less) every day and had a wonderful time (e.g. Cassis, St. Maximin, Aix, Fayence, Brignoles, etc.). It's a great location from which to explore the region. The owners could NOT have been more helpful both before we arrived and while we were there. Amy email we sent with a question was immediately answered and, if necessary, someone was sent out to help. I would recommend La Calisanne to anyone who wants a traditional, relaxed Provencal vacation.

Summary: Our group was two American couples who like to cook. We LOVED La Calisanne and certainly recommend it! Now for some details: The house is lovely. It has all of the conveniences of a modern house with a distinctly European feeling. The layout of the bedrooms made it very convenient for two couples to have a bit of separation. The living room is huge and comfortably furnished. The beds were very comfortable, and the bathrooms are spa-like. The kitchen is very well equipped and roomy. We loved cooking in the kitchen and on the outside gas grill. The terrace is perfect for outdoor meals. It was very hot during our visit (first week in July), and the central air conditioning and shutters kept the house delightfully cool. The setting is perfect. We did our sight-seeing in the morning, usually ending with a late lunch - then came back to relax by the pool - enjoying the fresh goat cheese and wine we had picked up at the market - before eventually cooking dinner. We also enjoyed the pentanque (boules) court. (Note: as in all rural areas, you need insect repellent.) Rural roads in Provence are narrow and windy, and the road from Bras up to the house is no exception. However there is very little traffic, and we enjoyed being on a quiet hilltop. The village of Bras is small but boasts two excellent restaurants - Le Petite Maison de Bras and L'Aoutee. There is also a small bakery and a butcher shop. There is a small but well stocked grocery store at the east end of town. Our day trips in included: the Gorges du Verdon where we rented a small electric boat and enjoyed a dip in the Verdon River followed by a delightful lunch in Moustiers; Cassis - we had been warned of crowds so we went on a weekday and got an early start - had no traffic and no trouble parking in the large lot at Gorguettes - loved the boat tour of the Calanques; and some out of the way villages like Ponteves and Cotignac. Finally, a host of small details made La Calisanne perfect for us. We received a very warm welcome from the house manager, who was wonderfully patient with our lack of French language skills. In the laundry room we found a small cooler and "blue ice" that we took on all of our excursions. There were lovely terry cloth covers on the pool lounges and lots of beach towels. The kitchen had lots of cutting boards and good knives - believe me this is not always the case in vacation houses! In short, PERFECT!

Summary: We loved La Calisanne! We were there this month (July, 2015) on a 3-generational girls' trip…grandmother, daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, and loved every minute! The home is immaculate with wonderful bathrooms, living areas, and kitchen. Property is well equipped…we found everything at our fingertips. We took day trips all week from Isle Sur La Sorgue, St. Remy, Arles, Cassis, St. Tropez, Aix--the location was fabulous. It was so nice returning to La Calisanne in the afternoons to enjoy the peacefulness, the pool and beautiful views. Bras is a wonderful little village to pick up everything you need. We will definitely return to La Calisanne!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at La Calisanne. Very pleasant owners to deal with and where any questions you may have from the time of booking to and during your stay are taken care of promptly. They have thought of literally everything and there was not one thing we would have missed or wished to be different. A special note also to the absolutely fully equipped kitchen, something we have never experienced throughout our many rentals and which is appreciable for someone preferring to cook a good lunch or diner. We found everything to be perfect for the house, ammenities and surroundings! The house is located in a wonderful area, very quiet though close to the village. You won't miss any comfort here as everything has been arranged and thought of with great care. Well designed, bright and sunny interior with a lovely garden (plenty of lights at night if you wish so) and a superb pool which has an absolutely fantastic view. A great place to wind down, relax and enjoy the tranquility. If you like to visit like we do, you have plenty of charming villages nearby within a short driving distance, the sea being less than an hour away and on your visits, you can enjoy one of the restaurants on your way or take a break and visit one of the many wineyards for wine tasting and to fill up your wine cellar again. We highly recommend the house and place and will certainly retain it in our favorites for futur "Provence Verte" visits.

Summary: We (a Family with 2 Children) had a wonderful stay at Calisande in the Provence. Everything was as promised, the house itself has an outstanding view over the countryside, architecture and decoration of the house is excellent but with a very personal touch. The surrounding of the house is typical for the Provence with a nice situated swimming pool. Communication with the owner and hand-over of the maison was well organized. The house was cleaned, well maintained and all the facilities worked as described. The pictures reflect very well the house and it´s spirit. We can highly recommend this house to anybody looking for a quite and preacefull stay in the Provence - a true vaccation spot for Family with children. However car is needed.
