Summary: Stayed in the Pony Room. It’s not as elaborately kitschy as other rooms but still fun. The room is pretty large & comfortable. The resort itself with the restaurants, bar, pool & other activities you don’t really have to leave. The Madonna Inn is a fun weekend getaway.

Summary: Early check-in made this stat even better. Recommend you do a pre-check-in which starts at noon. This means they notify you when your room is available and sometimes it already is. Ours was available at 1. Staff very helpful. Food was good.

Summary: Cool place. One warning though: they charged me a “resort fee”. It was a total surprise at checkin. No warning in the hotels.com website so pretty much a scam on the part of the property. I just paid it.

Summary: It had always been my dream to stay at the Madonna Inn & it didn't disappoint! Our room was wondering kitschy and garishly colored. After looking extensively at the different themes, we opted for one of the ones with it's own viewing tower. The view was cool from the little tower (though the temperature was not!), the spiral staircase was whimsical, and the light filtering down in the morning was quite lovely. Other noteworthy things: - the shower pressure was great - there was a bidet built into the toilet (I was too scared to use it, though) - the room did smell a bit like cleaning products, which on the one hand is good, but on the other was occasionally overwhelming. - robes were super soft. - towels were pretty rough/utilitarian - bed was ok, but not great. - overhead lighting was super bright - some way on a dimmer, but not all, and the swimming was inconsistent. - oddly, the lighting near the bed was controlled near the door, which was inconvenient. - the hallway outside the rooms was a bit dingy. - conditioner bottle was missing the internal straw thing that allowed you to pump it. - there was parking right near our room, which was on the 4th floor. - down in the main building, the gift shops were full of fun things to look at & buy. - the restaurants had a lot on offer & delicious steaks. - the drinks at the bar were pretty heavy pours. Overall, a really fun experience!

Summary: I had heard about this place and thought it would be worth the stay. The room needs major update. I get it, these are supposed to be themed rooms, but they are old, very outdated. The noise level was by far the worst I have ever experienced. I could hear everything from other rooms. This was the first time I have ever called the front desk to ask to have other guest in the adjacent room to turn down their music and their screaming. I have traveled a lot, and this was the worst stay. I have to say that the responsiveness from security was fast. Also, the staff at the bar were great. I don't usually do reviews but I felt that this was needed. The hotel needs to invest on renovating their rooms to give their guests a quieter and more comfortable sty.

Summary: If you love all things ornate, and over the top kitschy, then this is the place for you. We had fun exploring the property and the fun details in every corner. We stayed in the Dot & Daisy room (I recommend a room with a balcony), one of the cheaper rooms, but still it felt special. We ate in the main restaurant, which is on the pricier end, but delicious (let them know when you make the reservation if you are there for a special occasion. They gave us a huge piece of cake in honor of our anniversary!)

Summary: From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we felt welcome. The decor is unique, overdone in the best way possible, and full of intricate details that brought me joy. Amidst the throwback decor, you get top-notch modern conveniences like warmToto toilet seats and bidets, an fitness facility with ample equipment, a beautiful pool, 2 hot tubs, and delicious food and desserts in the restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast and a late night dessert to go at the Copper Cafe.Everything was delicious. The biscuits are incredible The property has beautiful flowers and we enjoyed watching hummingbirds from the restaurant and the pool. Close to Pismo Beach and beautiful sunsets.

Summary: Have been wanting to stay at Madonna Inn for quite a few years and finally did it to celebrate my partner's birthday. We got there a little earlier than the 4pm check-in, but the reservation desk staff pre-checked me in and told me when the room was expected to be ready and gave us a key to the pool while we waited. We got a phone call that our room was ready just a little under 2 hours before 4pm, so it was nice that we were able to get into our room sooner and get situated before exploring. We stayed in the Daisy Mae room, which is basically like a cave! All of the walls were stone (which we learned are actual stones sourced from around where the Madonna Inn was built) including the bathroom sink and shower. It was definitely a fun experience to feel like we were in nature whenever we needed water. The only issue with all the stone is the room can feel quite humid especially with the shower running, but thankfully there is a little air conditioning unit and a window that can open to help with that. Overall a fun experience and probably the most unique hotel room I've ever stayed in. We also ate at the Gold Rush Steak House for dinner and the Copper Cafe for breakfast before checking out. Both dining places were wonderful and it was nice that we were able to make reservations online. Finally, the pool was nice though it could be hard to find a lounge chair depending on how busy it is, but still had an overall great first time at Madonna Inn. We'll be back!
