Summary: Most of the other tourists in Tarapoto were Peruvian, but this should be a more popular spots for single people or families from other countries, as well. Hotel staff were very helpful, patient with our limited Spanish, and having the restaurant available for lunch and dinner as needed added to the relaxation. Standard Peruvian meals, but with good variety and quality, and cheap. Definitely recommend.

Summary: If your looking for a rustic lodge while staying in tarapoto, the Madera Labrada Lodge is the place. It's nestled on the outside of the city with views of the jungle. It's very quiet (once the pool area shuts down) and the staff help you feel very comfortable and welcomed. Would definitely stay here again.
