Positive: The place is easily the best stay I had in Japan: great, spacious room (apartment rather) with own onsen-powered bath, amazing traditional Japanese breakfasts, lovely, open, and helpful staff & owner. Reasonably located in a typical small-street quarter of a Japanese city, which was in a reasonable walking distance from everything you might want to see in the city.

Negative: That I had to leave.

Summary: !00% recommended if you want to see the best of Kanazawa.

Positive: Such a beautiful magical sanctuary. We loved everything from the time we arrived staff we're so friendly and helpful, the home was large, clean and comfortable and the area is stunning. Location is perfect, sights are all within walking distance. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Positive: We had the most amazing stay at Machi No Odoriba. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and generous. The small attentions, like the free coffee and treats offered throughout the day, the pijamas and traditional yukata to wear for breakfast, made this a particularly special stay. The room/house was bigger than expected with plenty of room to relax and unwind, surrounded by beautiful furniture in a curated environment with attention to details. We also loved the location, nestled away in a quiet neighborhood, but incredibly close to the famous market and train station. We got a taste of authentic Kanazawa, which spans far beyond the geisha and samurai district where most tourist seemed to be found. The city of Kanazawa itself is beautiful, and altho there was many visitors, like us, we found it completely unspoiled by tourism. For sure, staying in this beautiful accommodation added so much to our trip. Also the breakfast was incredible and, even though I’m not used to a salty start, all I had to do was to keep an open mind and take one first bite!

Positive: Fantastic experience of Japanese Culture from the traditional rooms to provided yukata and breakfast options. Modern amenities made our stay comfortable. The hostess was delightful and able to communicate in English for which we were grateful.
