Positive: Lovely location Peebles a very busy town. Reception ladies were v friendly and explained everything. Bedroom big comfy bed nice shower gel etc. Breakfast on our last day very well organised and enjoyable

Negative: I did not enjoy breakfast on 1st morning it was like a scene from Faulty towers. Had to queue staff did try to get things moving but they were at a loss. Dont think dining room big enough for full hotel of guests. Kitchen need to keep the cooking going so never empty dishes no sausage no black pudding no beans very little mushrooms and dry scrambled egg. Come on you knew there were going to be x number of guests so why was it a case of not refilling before the empty sign. Bought a drink at the bar very pricey charged nearly £4.00 for Scweppes tonic but it was feverfew advertised on your bar list which is what I expected. Sorry hotel needs to tighten up its staff few who were not interested while most were run off their feet. Thank you for our break.

Positive: We loved our stay here. The staff are exceptional, caring and kind. We brought our black Labrador and enjoyed the walks by the river and views over the golf course. The room was spacious with a really comfy bed. The breakfast buffet had a superb selection. It was a very enjoyable experience and great value.

Negative: Ground floor room - people walked by and looked in the rooms every day (can the path be signed for emergency only?). Lift out of order for full 3 days of stay. Breakfast ok - black pudding was very disappointing I particular - best bit was the service from the team.

Positive: The staff were all so nice and helpful, val on reception and the other chap( sorry forgot his name) very pleasant chatty and helpful, young lad from restaurant lovely can’t complain about anyone! The room was nice and bed was crisp linen and super comfy! Breakfast was nice, the lady and young lad do nice,but again not 4star! But tasty enough. Enjoyed watching the golfers and had a pleasant stay thanks team 😍

Negative: Sorry hotel we were very disappointed in the overall appearance! The curtains on the window as you came in are all ripped, the sofas, chairs etc very worn and need replacing! We found it quite grubby, windows were dirty, bar downstairs was closed on a beautiful sunny day, brought a drink down ourselves! Tables not cleaned from night before, ashtrays all full, trays on tables tables sticky! Eventually a man came down and brought us another drink! The chairs in our room 316 worn, mirror in bathroom needs replaced,grout on floor tiles gone, found stairs dirty and lift broken, it’s horrible for me to write this as we lived all the staff but the hotel needs a massive refurb! It’s certainly no way a 4 star ⭐
