"Maat's scouring is actually due to chance. We were looking for a “Scheuer” barn as a storage facility for tractors and machines. The farmhouse belonging to the barn was love at first sight. With a lot of passion and craftsmanship, he has converted it into a holiday home in the past three years and made it a real gem for the dreamy farming village of "Hamm".
When furnishing the rooms, the main goal was to underline the rural charm with authentic furnishings and furniture.
This is how a house was created, where families with children or a group of friends with up to 10 people can go on holiday together on the Saar.
Secluded in the middle of a peninsula in the Saar, it is only a few minutes to Saarburg, where numerous shopping and leisure opportunities can be found.
From Maat’s barn you can enjoy the unobstructed view of the Serriger vineyards and watch the hang gliders that start on the opposite slope, the “beautiful view” and land 200 m from the holiday home.

Summary: We had a lovely week in this beautiful area. The house was comfortable and the village was very peaceful. There were problems with the description however. There was no garden just a piece of land on which to park the car . The terrace was a sloping area of concrete with some plastic chairs and a table and there were no bikes. The owner Mattias was very helpful .

Summary: We booked this house for an autumm stay, it was easy to find, well equipped and very warm and comfortable. The location is well placed for lots of walks both easy (along the river) or more challenging in the hills. The town of Saarburg is very pretty and has enough restaurants for a weeks stay, as well as several supermarkets. Serrig nearby has a bakery for fresh rolls. The booking and check in / out was easy and we really couldn't have wanted anything more in the house. Thank you.
