Positive: I was at the Homestay Cô gái Thái (Noọng Sao2)-which is a part of the Village, and it was amazing, a wonderful vietnamese family welcomed me. It was one of the best experiences in my life, thank you again for this wonderful family, their meals, their hospitality, will always be in my heart! "Piano", "River", "New" were amazing I hope I could come back as soon as possible!

Positive: The place is in a great location, with good views of the valley. The host was really amazing, she welcomed us at 3AM, after our bus got delayed. Also, she helped us book a last minute trip to hanoi airport, after our bus got cancelled. We got a great sleep, but beds are Vietnamese -stlye. We would definitely stay here again when back to Mu Cang Chai.

Positive: They put me in a neighbouring homestay not in the one that I had booked. The facility was adequate and there weren't many people staying there. I could communicate everything I needed with the staff via zalo even though I hardly say them. The location is in the centre of MCC town not that there is much to do or see there.

Negative: it was a public holiday so karaoke played but was fortunately cut off at 945pm. There was no meal option with this location, even though I'd requested dinner and they had answered with ok - there was a restaurant nearby and it may have been partly because of the public holiday.

Summary: Cheap and cheerful, the property looks out over rice patties .

Positive: Room VIP 2 : The AC was silent. The shower worked well. A kettle and toiletry were provided. A huge bed and huge windows. One of the women made the bus stop Infront of the homestay to take me to Sapa. Scooter rental just next door. Some simple restaurants next door.

Negative: Room VIP 2 : The room is very simple and basic. Maybe it's called Deluxe/ VIP because of the AC. I like hard beds but this bed was too hard, even for me. Obviously a new road was built in front of the bungalow so the view is not so special anymore. No chair and no table in the quite small room. Unlike in the description there is no private balcony or terrace at the VIP bungalow. There is a common terrace a few steps down, close to the rice paddies. However the 2 barstools there are quite uncomfortable and are not generating the feeling of hanging out there. The first evening there was lots of noise from a construction nearby, from some aluminum being handled at the homestay and from a group of local men talking ( shouting ) that sounded as if they were all drunk. Then came the noise of a motorbike on the grounds of the homestay and to top it off some trashy Vietnamese pop music was pumped out( in a nightclub soundlevel ) at the homestay. Luckily it was turned off when I complained. The possibility of having breakfast is advertised on booking.com however that was not really an option. The glass of the bathroom window was missing so all sorts of creatures might pay you a visit.
