Summary: We were a party of 6 and ate at the restaurant for both breakfasts and dinner time. Dinner was expensive, which we don’t mind, but they were charging us for tap water (not bottled) which I found very tacky for upscale accommodations. I felt as though they were taking advantage of tourists with this policy. The breakfast was very nice and very good. They don’t charge for tapwater at breakfast time so that was good. I would give five stars, but the charging for tap water really turned me off and I find it very bothersome when paying for a $60+ entree

Summary: The is located close to transportation and shopping. It’s clean and has the modern conveniences for travelers. The breakfast was excellent but the staff gave us incorrect information about the Sunday bruch and breakfast arrangements which led to us not having breakfast as usual as we intended to have the bruch as it was timed closer to our departure for a long train trip. Generally the stay was great!

Summary: This very comfortable hotel caters to businesses. There are a lot of nice touches- like high tech elevators that both work and make sense, USB plugs where you need them, blinds that automatically deploy when the sun shines on the windows, and thoughtful lighting throughout. The rooms were clean, and furnishings were like new. The breakfast buffet was good, and cooked to order eggs came out quickly. It's only a 5 minute walk to the train station and major tram hub- trams are free and museums are half cost when you stay at certain Basel hotels, including Movenpick.
