With an abundance of space, this four-bedroom luxury farmhouse villa is perfect for a special outdoor experience. Although updated to the highest standards of modern luxury, Villa Petra manages to keep its authentic old-world charm completely intact, creating a truly unique setting for your next luxury retreats vacation.
There's always a new place to enjoy your morning espresso and watch the sun come up. Upon arrival, shuttered windows, stone walls, and terracotta-tiled roofs immediately convey the key trademarks of Italian architecture.
Inside, there's formal dining for ten. Outside, there are several alfresco dining and relaxing corners set on the terrace, sheltered by gorgeous tree-top foliage and wisteria flowers, as well as a refreshing swimming pool (20 x 8 mt) just beyond the house. Sleeping arrangements are split among three ensuite bedrooms plus another twin bed room.
Pieve Santo Stefano is an idyllic antique village set amongst the vineyards at just 9 kms from Lucca old town where at its peak, Villa Santo Stefano, the winery that hosts Villa Petra is located.
Although less than a bunch of people live in this village, it's quite popular among international expats, hi-so, wine connoisseurs and international aristocracy. The closest highway junctions it is just 10 kilometres from home. Travel another 20 mins to reach the Versilia beaches, Forte dei Marmi and Pietrasanta, or drive another 30 mins to reach Florence and slightly more to reach Siena or Cinque Terre. And you can visit Lucca, rich with historical sites, museums, art galleries, cafes, and fine Tuscan cuisine.
COMPOSITION
Main Villa (main farmhouse villa located close to the building that it is the winery’s tasting salon and access to underground cellars).
-Ground Floor: 3 ensuite bedrooms with 3 bathrooms, one twin bedroom and bathroom. Please note that the twin bedroom and a double bedroom on this floor don't have air-conditioning, even if they are always quite cool also in the summer time.
-First floor (pool level): a chef-grade kitchen, grand dining room, two living rooms. Access through French windows in the living area to the back garden with pool.
The back garden of the villa and the pool are private an inaccessible by workers of the winery while the front garden is connected with the whole estate.
Hayloft (Ground floor apartment with access from the front garden)
- Ground Floor: Luxury living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite luxury bathroom.
This building is located next to the main villa and also hosts the apartment of the manager of the winery (a lovely and charming lady that will enchant you with her experience and passion for Lucca and wine), two guests apartments for the use of the owners and their guests, the shared laundry rooms.
NOTES: the fireplaces of the house are not usable. The big barbecue is gas operated.

Summary: We had an incredible stay at this beautiful and spacious villa, which comfortably accommodates up to 10 people. The outdoor area is large and stunning, with a fantastic pool where we could relax after a day of exploring. Summary: Our visit to Villa Petra fulfilled every expectation of a five star resort vacation. Ten minutes outside of Lucca by car and approximately one hour from Firenze, the villa is situated at the top of the mountain in the quaint village of Pieve Santo Stefano, affording everyone lovely vistas of the Tuscan countryside. It was the perfect location from which to visit Pisa, Cinque Terre and the Chianti hills. Our group of four couples spent one week in this lovely home and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. We made good use of the kitchen which is very well-equipped and had some memorable meals. Thanks so much to Petra for being an amazing host. We enjoyed her visits and found her delightful. She encouraged us to fill her home with laughter and music and warmly thanked us for doing so. From the welcoming moments to the tearful goodbyes, our hosts were delightfully hospitable, filled each and every request and did so warmly and well. While the photographs on the site present the beauty of the villa, they do not justly reflect the spirit of this authentic and elegantly appointed Tuscan home. We shall return so that once again we can tread the same steps as those from centuries before and imagine what life could be in the Tuscan countryside. Many thanks for a lovely stay!

Summary: This is a perfect location to spend some time with good friends: a beautiful house, nicely furnished, very clean, wonderful pool and a great lounge area. The description of the house and the property was very accurate and the communication with the host before and during our stay was perfect. The host and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Summary: A beautiful villa in a beautiful setting with some fantastic views. The setting in the hills outside of Lucca was perfect for a week of rest with a few trips into Lucca for fun. Our family of 7 was perfectly comfortable here. We loved the style and the decor of the villa along with its spaciousness. Petra and the staff were fantastic and did so much to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. They truly pay attention to every detail. We will definitely look to return the next time we visit Tuscany.

Summary: We were there to celebrate a birthday and it did not disappoint. Beautiful location just outside of Lucca, but would recommend a car for convenience. Rooms were spacious and lovely, lots of amenities.

Summary: Villa Petra was absolutely perfect - the location, the setting and of course the villa itself. We loved every second we were there and we were made most welcome by our wonderful host and our housekeeper was outstanding. We can't recommend Villa Petra highly enough. We were travelling with a 1 year old, it would have been helpful to have a baby bath. The bath in the ensuite had a tiled base which made it rough for a baby used to a plastic baby bath.

Summary: Our stay was fantastic! The villa, grounds, and location alone were beautiful, but Petra and the rest of the Villa Santo Stefano staff really made our stay perfect! They were so helpful and friendly and truly made a positive difference on our holiday. The villa was super clean and had been tastefully updated with modern kitchen and bathroom appliances, but without losing the charm of a classic Tuscan farm home. The private pool was great and the views of the surrounding hills around the property were beautiful. We wish we had booked it for longer!
