Summary: From the booking to check-out, it was a very simple process. The lodge was spacious enough for three generations and a great base to explore the Highlands and pop into Sterling and Edinburgh. We'd book again - if only it was closer to London! :D

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here despite the cabin not being as clean as we would have liked on arrival. The cabin is comfortable and fairly well equipped although Covid-19 does mean that some items have been temporarily removed. The site is beautifully wooded, peaceful and quiet and there is much to explore in the surrounding area. We had walks with breathtaking scenery round Loch Lomond and in Glencoe, a bike ride round Loch Katrine and a picturesque Three Lochs Forest Drive and more. Because of the current Covid situation finding somewhere to eat out was a bit of a challenge as a lot of the nearby hotels, pubs, etc. were only catering for their own guests but we had a couple of good meals at The Lade Inn in Kilmahog (just a 15-20 minute drive away towards Callander).

Summary: When we arrived we were able to get in right away. Lodge was little dated and didn’t look like it had adhered to Covid disinfectant promise. Unfortunately the dishwasher was full of last person’s dirty dishes, one of the chairs outside leg was broken and only found out when my disabled dad went to pull it out to sit down, decking area was in need of some TLC also. There was so many cables behind table that wasn’t safe and tv didn’t work properly due to cables, the iron was a bit frightening as live cable was poking out around the cable also. When we went to put rubbish in bins they were overflowing and had to walk right down near entrance to use the bins there. Shower was fab and really hot to which was a bonus but overall disappointed with lodge as description isn’t what you get.

Summary: The property wasn't anywhere near as clean as we would have expected. The place looked as if it had been given a quick spruce before we got there. The floor in the living area was dirty and sticky and had lots of little things left on it from the previous guests (pen lid, bottle of bubbles, earrings). The kitchen hadn't been wiped down properly and the hob splashback was filthy. A few of the windows and mirrors had big handprints on them too. The bathrooms had hairs in the sinks and showers. The bedroom carpets still had pet hair on them. The place was generally quite dusty with cobwebs hanging from the ceilings in most rooms. The mattress in the master bedroom needs to be replaced as it is totally sunken on one side and was really uncomfortable to sleep on for the 3 nights we were there. My partner and I had to take turns on the bad side. The patio area was really dirty with cobwebs. The decking looks like it's never been cleaned and was very slippery once it rained due to algae etc. The black dining table outside was also covered in green algae which wasn't very inviting to sit around. It looks as though it has never been cleaned. Overall I was really disappointed with the condition on the place. The level of cleanliness is not what you expect from a holiday rental, especially given current global pandemic we are in. Another small note is that the kitchen was poorly equipped. There was no kitchen roll, no cooking oil, only a few dishwasher tablets. Also, there was only 2 dinner plates which is inadequate when the property is supposed to cater for 6 people. Same with wine glasses. Won't be back.

Summary: We had a lovely short break in the cabin, which is very well furnished throughout. We particularly enjoyed watching the red squirrels playing amongst the trees. Lynda & Alan were very helpful, finding and returning a small item I had left behind. I'm sure we'll be back.
