Fish species include, Landlocked Salmon, Brook Trout, and Rainbow Trout. Waters flowing over the dam and into the West branch of the Mattawamkeag makes for excellent fly-fishing.
95 miles from the 'city lights' of Bangor Maine ensures unsurpassed night sky viewing.
The property provides maximum privacy as it is located 3 miles from Rte 11.
Solar powered, beautifully restored 100 year old log cabin with 3 bedroom addition.

Summary: Donna welcomed us to her lake cabin with incredible care and hospitality, then left us to enjoy its many wonders in perfect peace. This is truly a magical place. We swam, paddled, and enjoyed long afternoons on the screened porch hearing nothing but the wind and the loons. At one point, we'd seen more moose than people! We have seldom come back from a vacation as fully restored.

Summary: Wonderfully quiet and peaceful vacation. Cabin is fantastic and the lake is gorgeous. Spent some quality family time away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Communication with Donna was first rate and Darrell was especially helpful and available 24/7. Enjoyed the Kayaks and the fishing boat immensely. We had a wonderful time and would return again.

Summary: We loved the property and the lake. We enjoyed using the kayaks and canoes daily, along with the fishing boat. Remote location, rarely saw anyone else on the lake. Saw beavers often on evening paddles, and twice saw moose. Screened in porch was very comfortable, great watching the occasional storm. House was clean and large enough for our family of 5. Darrell met us at the road side to lead us back to the house, and showed us around the property. It's a gravel road in, and we made the trip in a minivan without issue.

Summary: This camp is on a secluded spot on Rockabema Lake. It has beautiful views and a prime spot on the lake. It was immaculately kept. It is tastefully and we’ll appointed. The owner provides kayaks and canoes for exploring the lake. Can’t wait to come back!!!

Summary: Our family of 6 had an amazing time at Donna’s cabin! The house is stocked full of all the amenities you could need, and Donna welcomed us herself with the best charcuterie board (much needed after such a long drive). It’s apparently that a lot of love and care goes into the property. 5 stars for cleanliness, communication, and comfort. The whole family agreed we’d stay here again!

Summary: Our family of six, with kids aged 8-16yr, thoroughly enjoyed our July week. Everything was provided to enjoy the lake and house. The owner was a pleasure to work with. There were so many highlights to this peaceful vacation. -kayaking and canoeing all around the lake (several boats and life jackets) -swimming and paddle boarding in the lake all by ourselves with gorgeous surroundings -watching loons, beavers, and bald eagles from the boats and screened porch (and moose early and late in the day in the corner of the lake from the boats) -day trip to hike in Baxter state park, Howe Brook trail (about 1 hour drive) -very comfortable bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, and living room -awesome fire pit by the lake with fun wooden seats and a circular picnic table It was so wonderful, we had a tough time leaving. Thank you Donna!

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyed this stay. Great for R&R! Very quiet except for call of loons. Enjoyed kayaking and exploring, watching eagles, kingfishers and beavers. Very comfortable, well-appointed cabin. Plenty of hiking in area. Friendly town. Great communication as well. Can't wait to return another year!
