Properties don’t get more romantic than this.
Surrounded by Mountains, rivers, waterfalls and fields, Tan Yr Allt is a very pretty welsh longhouse, 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom stone property located in the Snowdonia national park. The house sleeps 10 across 2 king size, 1 quad and a small double bedroom.
Enjoying an elevated position with outstanding views, the house has been lovingly resorted whilst retaining many original features including exposed beams and original slate floors.
This romantic 17th century welsh longhouse is set in a rural position in the village of Trawsfynydd, approximately 10 miles from Blaenau Ffestiniog and 12 miles from Bala.
To the front is a south facing garden with patio area and mature shrubs and plants with seating for 10 and a BBQ and Pizza oven. With gardens extending to around an acre, there is plenty of space for all to enjoy, including our 4 legged friends who are very welcome.
Within the grounds is a watertight lockable stone outbuilding (this is the building you can see in some of the pictures) which can be used for storage of bikes, (back racks available) Kayaks etc. Outside the outbuilding is a fitted hose so you can wash down your bikes etc if desired.
Access to the property is over a small bridge which is not suitable for commercial vehicles, camper vans etc.
We get lots of questions as to whether we live on site, we don't. You get full and private use of the entire house ensuring complete privacy and enjoyment during your stay. We also get lots of questions about the grounds/gardens. They are fully fenced off all around the property.
Please note - we sleep upto 10 adults but please check room configuration as one of the rooms has two double beds in.
Pizza over and BBQ only available from 01/4 - 31/10.

Summary: We had a great week in this beautiful house. The children loved the large garden to play in and the house was well equipped to make all the family meals. The house was very peaceful and just what we needed for a relaxing break. Just be aware it’s a good 20/30 minutes to the nearest shops for food but knowing this we didn’t find it an issue just need to be organised. Also with the check in and check out times you loose 2 days holiday which is a shame so what you book as a 5 day break Monday to Friday is really only 3 days Tuesday Wednesday Thursday as such an early check out Friday

Summary: Everything about our stay was amazing, the host ave thought about everything to make the stay perfect. The views are exceptional the house is fabulous the outside space is great if you have dogs or children. Everything you need or want is there to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Summary: Access to the property was challenging because the sheep would get trapped between our car and the track, which was fenced, so limited places for them to escape and we didn’t want to stress them. We were besieged by midgets outside of the property (lots of bites) therefore couldn’t enjoy the outside space (which was one of the reasons I chose this property). There were lots of weeds throughout the paving and a broken step leading to the lawned area. The decking around the summerhouses has also sunk. The internet was frustrating, continually dropping the signal, but it did work intermittently. The property would benefit from blackout blinds in the bedrooms. It was very difficult to sleep past 4.30am (May) with the amount of light coming through the windows. Starting the day ‘tired’ is never good, especially when you’re on holiday. I also had to wash the glasses before we used them as they were not as clean as they should have been. That may be down to that fact that only one tea towel was available, and in a property that sleeps 10, that’s not enough.

Summary: Stayed at Tan yr Allt to celebrate a milestone birthday with the family. The house is beautifully renovated and suited all our family needs. The gardens were safe and secure for the children and dogs to play. The amenities in and outside the cottage are really good. The area of Trawsfynnyd is lovely and there is plenty to do with the family in the local area.

Summary: Just what we wanted. We have 2 dogs so didn't want neighbours. Love the remote rural location. The ground are beautiful. The old part of the cottage is full of character. We can't wait to go back.
