The apartment (93 m2 – 1,000 ft2) occupies the second floor of a large villa situated on the promontory overlooking the Mediterranean from Cap Mortola to Bordighera. It is adjacent to the world-renowned Hanbury Gardens, which situates it within a preservation area. Mortola Inferiore is just 2 miles from the French border town of Menton; 4 miles from Ventimiglia; and a half-mile from the seaside village of Latte with its all-purpose supermarket, Conad. The major international airport at Nice is just 23 miles away by the autostrada A8.
The apartment was totally modernized in 2018 and features a dining-room veranda with panoramic ocean views; a living-room cum top-of-the-range Fogliarini kitchen with all appliances; two full bedrooms, one with a double bed, and one with three singles (two of which can form a double); a full bathroom with large bathtub and separate walk-in shower; a half bath with washbasin and toilet; and a large external terrace overlooking the sea to the front and a Mediterranean garden to the side. There is also a wide terrace outside the living room and double bedroom with stunning ocean views. There is a washing machine in the master bathroom and a large tumble-drier in a self-contained unit outside. A large sofa in the living-room is convertible into a double bed, so the apartment can sleep up to seven people.

Summary: We've stayed at many places all over Europe, including many that over-promise and don't quite deliver. This apartment in Mortola Inferiore was perfect. Magnificent views of the sea, an easy walk to the botanical garden, Hanbury Garden, and a very short drive down to an amazing grocery called Conads that has it all. It's also a very short drive to Ventimiglia for the daily farmers market or an equally short drive into Menton, France for that town's daily farmers market. Villa Eva, a wonderful beach resort, is just down the road as are many, many other beachside restaurants and chair rentals in both France and Italy. We are very happy to highly recommend this apartment. The owners are wonderful and made our stay that much more special.
